Eleven local artists walked away with “awards” after winning their category at the Carolina Country Music Awards, held at the House of Blues in North Myrtle Beach, with over a thousand in attendance.
Blue Pickups, a country act from Columbia, S.C., was be crowned “Entertainer of the Year” after winning the annual Palmetto Chevrolet Carolina Artist Showdown competition heard on 93.9 Carolina Country (WMIR FM). The “Entertainer of the Year” category is voted on by listeners. Remaining categories are selected by a panel of judges and the nominees
The Carolina Artist Showdown airs daily on 93.9 Carolina Country (WMIR) Myrtle Beach, SC and All American Country 100.1 (WFAY) Fayetteville, NC. The showdown gives local artists from the Carolinas the opportunity to receive daily Radio airplay of their song, known as “spins,” on 93.9 Carolina Country. Listeners vote for their favorite song and artist and the top vote-getter each month becomes the Artist of the Month.
