One of my close friends Twyla and I always love to send each other food content on social media. We're greedy and this is a hobby of ours, don't judge! Anyway, she sent me a video of some sort of pasta, I believe it was baked ziti, and I forgot about it. But then, a few days or so later (yesterday) I found myself craving chicken parmesan....

Letters to Myself: A Deck for Self-Love

II’m tearing up as I type this because it feels like such a full-circle moment. This project has been in the making for quite some time, so to see it in the flesh is truly surreal.
⁠
This deck of 30 affirmation cards is meant to help set an intention of greater self-reflection for its readers. Each card features a short, yet impactful affirmation that can be used to help kickstart your day, boost midday morale or unwind in the evening.
⁠
I want people to be able to use these cards in a number of different ways. You can say the affirmations out loud, display them somewhere you can see them throughout the day, or–take things a step deeper by using them as a journal prompt. From there, I encourage you to shuffle and re-read them monthly, because self-love isn’t just a one-time thing.
⁠
Each card also features original artwork by the amazing Brooke Danaher, a Black woman artist from the U.K. who absolutely slayed this project. I shared the affirmations with her and from there she brought them to life. Each illustration is unique in that they showcase the beauty in our diversity as Black women. I wanted you to be able to see yourself, a friend, or a relative in this deck.
