Last night the FOTV team went on the road to see live music by The bass player is none other than . It was a “dream come true” for and an honor for us both to meet him, shake his hand, and take a picture. The band was great and we had a lot of fun. Didn’t get to talk movies with him but it was a precious night for us both. Bravo - The Film and Arts Network

I was recently thinking about the movie Kafka. I searched on streaming and couldnt find it. Then i started thinking about the first time i saw it and was reminded of all the movies i was introduced to because of Bravo. Not Bravo now with the Housewives or yachts or real estate drama. But the Bravo from the early 90s without commercials. Swipe and see some of the films I probably would have never seen without Bravo.

The US vs Oppenheimer

I finally watched Oppenheimer. bought it in digital and we made the effort. Why would i say effort? Well it was a challenge for me. The movie is good. But i had issues with the pacing and the hearings and interviews kinda dragged for me. Acting and visuals were great and the story is a good one to tell but after we were done watching we both felt like Christopher Nolan was being too Christopher Nolany. I mean, his style hasnt reached m. Night shamalan territory but I started to feel inceptioned on an interstellar memento.

Brainstorm (1983)

So im home sick and since The Price Is Right isnt on i rewatched this movie that Nancy and i saw as kids called Brainstorm. First if all, its not great. Second of all, its kinda messed up and way ahead of its time.

Basically the scientists develop a way to record your brainwaves and play them back effecting your thoughts and feelings. The government gets involved to use the tech for advanced training and eventually torture tactics.

It goes on from there and gets philosophical about death and happiness. Its unfortunate it wasn’t better produced because i probably would have been super into this movie. The director was more of a special effects guy so im not surprised the effects are the best visuals in the movie.
