US-based experimental artist Kraanerg will be releasing their upcoming debut full-length album, titled Heart of a Cherry Pit Sun, on June 21st via Not Music Label.

The album is a furious mix of brutal prog (think Koenjihyakkei, The Flying Luttenbachers, Lightning Bolt), contemporary classical and avant-garde jazz à la Third Stream, with saxophone and violin soaring above stochastic rhythms and extended harsh chords.

Nat Bergrin is the brain behind the project, writing the compositions and playing piano, synths and additional guitars on the studio album. They are joined by Angel Garcia (Laktating Yak, El Mantis, Refinery) on drums and vocals, D. L. (Kostnatění) on guitars, Danny Kamins (El Mantis, CARL, Etched in the Eye) on saxophone, and Daniel Cho on violin.

The album has been mixed and mastered by Markov Soroka (Tchornobog, Aureole, Drown), who also added ambiences and soundscapes to this cacophony.

The album will come out on June 21 on Not Music.

We rely on donations to fund these CD releases for small artists who would not otherwise be able to make physical merch.
