Thee Vicars- Psychotic Beat CD. Bands all over the world have been bashing out garage rock sounds long enough that simply playing the old changes fast, loud, and dirty doesn't set anyone apart anymore, so a band in the 21st century garage game needs something to set themselves apart from the pack. Thee Vicars, hailing from the otherwise unremarkable British community of Bury St. Edmunds, seem to be aiming for the title of most intense Garage combo on Earth on their second LP, `Psychotic Beat'. Bassist and lead vocalist Mike Whittaker sounds unusually wired within the boundaries of the genre and his bandmates hit hard and attack the tunes with an above-average velocity that sounds like a cross between the Reatards and Billy Childish with a little bit of Mummies budget rock bliss thrown into the mix. Scumbag Millionaire- Through Hell And Fire 7". Swedish Action Rock band Scumbag Millionaire are an extension of the classic scandi-rock scene which had its prime in the late '90s through bands including the Hellacopters, Gluecifer and the Backyard Babies. The scene fell quiet for a while, but with people starting to crave new bands, someone had to pick up where it left off; and Scumbag Millionaire hit the scene to carry the torch. They sonicly honor the aforementioned bands along with like minded Rock `n Roll hell-raisers including Nashville P***y, Zeke and Electric Frankenstein. Ice Cold Killers- Laughin' With Sinners, Cryin' With Saints CD. New York City's Ice Cold Killers unleash on their first album `Laughin' With Sinners, Cryin' With Saints'. This biting debut spews 14 nihilistic cuts of never surrender punk rock. Influenced by bands like Slaughter And The Dogs, Menace, Cocksparrer, Stiff Little Fingers and the Clash, these guys know how to write working class guitar punk anthems with vitriolic vocals, a brut voice and a story to tell. Reminds me a little of a combination of mid to late 90's heavy hitters like the US Bombs, Dropkick Murphy, the Workin' Stiffs and the Generators. And you can tell they spent some time to record this album as the recording quality on this record is top notch with cool looking cover art ta boot.

Seeds- A Thousand Shadows 7". Seeds- A Thousand Shadows 7". Well this is a pretty cool little slice of Seeds history. This 7" was originally scheduled to be GNP Crescendo Records single #388, but for some reason the release was cancelled back in 1967 and eventually released as Crescendo Records single #388. And at long last this amazing single finally get the reissue treatment. This single unearths the classic `A Thousand Shadows' and it's paired with `March Of The Flower Children' a killer B-side both recorded in May of 1967. Two stellar tracks here and a must have for any Seeds fan with vintage band photo sleeve art to match.
