🌈 Crowdsourcing Data on Indian LGBTHQIA+ Books, Magazines, and Films 📚🎥

In the diverse tapestry of India's cultural landscape, the narratives of the LGBTHQIA+ communities have often been silenced or relegated to the periphery. However, with the advent of digital platforms and increasing awareness, there's a growing effort to amplify these voices and stories.

This initiative seeks to create a comprehensive repository of works that celebrate and explore the diverse experiences of the LGBTQ+ community in India. We invite contributors to share information about various literary and cinematic works in a user-friendly form.

Contributors are asked to provide details such as:
Title
Name of the author, editor, translator, or poet
Are they self-identified q***r and non-binary Indian?*
The synopsis
The book cover image
The language it was published in
The ISBN
Publisher
The year of publication

*Importantly, contributors are also encouraged to respect the privacy and identity of the creators, particularly regarding their self-identification as q***r and non-binary individuals.

The significance of this crowdsourcing project lies in its potential to foster greater visibility and representation for LGBTHQIA+ voices in Indian literature and cinema. Challenges like piracy and digital dominance exist, but we're seizing opportunities for innovation! Independent publishers and international partnerships offer exciting avenues for growth. 💡🌏

India's literary scene is experiencing a renaissance, celebrating timeless classics and contemporary works. Festivals like the Jaipur Literature Festival spotlight diverse narratives. 🎉📚

Council member said, “We want to respect the religious rights of our citizens. You guys are welcome. But why do you have to have the flag shown on government property?” Two women protested the ban by kissing each before the city council and other religions groups gathered at the public hearing on whether the 🏳️‍🌈 flag must be banned.
