It’s time to start prepping for the next print issue.

I have already had a few people reach out with ideas/work which is amazing but I’m putting out the formal feelers.

Any questions, just let me know.

Feel free to share around!

MASQUERADER - NOTHING WILL CHANGE IS OUT

You probably don’t need convincing to listen to it, but I was more than happy to write about .am.masquerader regardless.

Read my thoughts (link in bio), or just go ahead and listen to it. I don’t mind either way.

Frustrations with writing, Brian Eno and letraset.

Some more graphics from Scuff 8.

The first image comes from the disappointing realisation that online writing is completely vapid. Finding a place that isn’t crawling with PR/SEO landfill is seemingly impossible. Get money quick “hacks”, mixed in with outlandish claims are the meta for journalism these days. It’s depressing.

The next image comes from an article by .archive about ambient music and finding comfort within the mundane. A perfect article for Scuff.

And finally we have a letraset of a man walking his dog. Lovely!

As always thanks to the contributors of Scuff. Slow press. 📓

I’m pretty sure hashtags don’t do anything anymore but just in case.

is back with another great piece with of Extra Life.

If you are a fan of anything experimental, that borders on the intense then you should definitely give a listen to Extra Life’s excellent ‘Secular Works Vol.2”. It’s great listening.

Link in bio as per usual, give it a read and let Scuff and Leon know what you think 📓

UTSUGI X SCUFF ZINE

Very happy to be back doing physical releases. Its the first zine in a while and its a very special one.

A collaboration with Utsugi, a musician in Niigata. We decided to combine a CD and a zine, a representation of both our art forms.

The CD features two demo tracks and the zine is a little intro into Utsugi with some photos and interviews.

Available at any show that Utsugi is at :—)

UK folks, I will make sure to being some back.

Songs, lyrics, photos etc by Utusgi and Scuff.

Shoutout to for help with some of the mixing!

Very excited to have my first Japanese and English article out.

I asked a UK band () and Japanese band () to review each others music in the name of exposing them to new audiences.

I think the result is interesting!!

Massive props to Matthew for the translation. If you need Japanese to English translation let me know and I will send you his way.

NEW ARTICLE

Sitting in my drafts for a while now was a .txt file named “The Chair Article”.

A vague, uneducated exploration into the world of product design from a layman.

From Munari, to Tati and all the way to Morrison and Fukasawa its a bit of a long one. It’s different from my usual stuff so would mean a lot if you give it a read.

SCUFF

SCUFF is a new music zine based in Reading, UK focussing on predominately smaller bands and musicians locally as well as nationally.

Aiming to bring back a DIY attitude to print media and avoiding the pretensions of mainstream music press, SCUFF hopes to act as a platform for writers interested in music as well as artists and designers.

The first issue is upcoming and will be self-published and exclusively available at local venues and stores!
