Having never thought about being apart of the OGL 1.0a (or other Gaming Licenses or Creative Commons and those communities) because Legends of Kralis is not built on or with the D&D SRD rules or any other content (or any other games), nor having thought that having one would some day make the difference in creating a fan base, nor using it to sway players/GMs to try the system I have never posted/created one....

I have always felt that when the time came, if ever, for something like this I would simply let others use the rules in their own work.

But now it seems that indie designers/publishers must now not only state that they have been on the side of fans, creators and/or 3pp that use their rules, but also create their own licenses to prove that...

With that said, I have only EVER wanted people to play my game, much like Halliday (Ready Player One) (https://youtu.be/sCLe3hRyXRU?t=128) , and enjoy it. If someone wanted the rules I just gave them to them and never have expected anything back, even today if you want the rules in pdf form to Legends of Kralis, all you need to do is ask.

Now with the most of community rushing to say we are not like D&D (etc.), and we have our own Gaming License, I feel that I need to say the same thing....

Legends of Kralis has always been and will always be open to others to use the rules to create content that is compatible with Legends.

I have been working on an SRD for the past two years, mostly because its just me and making it web friendly takes time. I have also put together a Common Creative License, not so much to cover Legends or to protect the IP of Talarius Gaming and Publishing, LLC., (which it does simply by the nature of licenses) but to ensure creators what my intent is for/of creating content using Legends of Kralis TTRPG and also my basic principles of sharing what I have created.

While I support what Paizo is going to write with their Open RPG Creative License (If it is good, i might decide to use it) in order to open up the RPG industry even more (which is even better), I have my own Creative Commons License for anyone interested in writing content for Legends of Kralis or Legends of Kralis compatible.

So with that i can truthfully say:

It has been a while since I have posted anything here. Life always has the ability to impose itself on you. Such has been my life for the past 7 months. So here is an update on the state of Talarius Gaming and Legends of Kralis:

The game itself is finished, but I am still working on getting the last bit of art done for the Bestiary, making sure the artists that do it get paid what they are worth, and while that is happening I have been constant tweaking layout, clarifying rules and updating spells, combat, etc., in both the Player's Guide and Game Master's Guide.
When its all said and done I will put it on Drivethru RPG and the Hard back books will never be more then 24.99. So for $75 dollars (plus shipping) you get three books that have over 1200 pages of content.

Additionally, the Website has significantly grown with new spells, items, Player Species, New Backgrounds and currently the SRD is getting put up as fast as I can, adjusting for web use is what is taking so long.

Additionally, I have also begun work on the Wiki site for the World of Kralis.

Also I have put up my Common Creative License for Legends, so those that decide to take a chance on writing and creating in the world of Legends of Kralis they will be able to do so freely.

WOTC's OGL 1.1
I have not really said anything about the affect that this will have on the gaming community, mostly because it will have little to no real affect on game designers that do not rely on the ogl and there are many in the industry from Free League to Modiphius to Chaosium to my little one person Indie Design Talarius Gaming.

This attempt is an underhanded, low, dishonest and unfair attempt by HASBRO/WIZARDS to undermine and destroy all the 3rd party publishers that have been doing so for the past 20+years. It remains to be seen if it is legal.

However, it honestly was not all the surprising, they attempted to do this with 4th Edition in the OSL, it failed and the backlash was PAIZO creating Pathfinder.

Unfortunately it was only a matter of time that the Giant of the Gaming Industry would decide that it was done sharing any of its profits with 3rd Party Publishers who are the true bloodlife of the d20/OSR gaming industry. On the brink of what many are calling a nuclear bomb being dropped on the d20/OSR industry many are understanding that they do not need the OGL at all, simply because no one can "copyright" game mechanics.

I wish them nothing but success and luck as they all scramble to get out of the Giants way and make adjustments to their current games so that they are still compatible with using the d20 system. Most are changing the names of the Six Attributes, others are changing Hit Points to Vitality and removing all of D$D (which is kinda reminiscent of the old T$R days) IP from their games. In the end I think that they will find that they do not need to rely on the "kindness" of HASBRO/WOTC to make great AND compatible games.

And for players that are looking to move from the D20 System or away from WOTC-D$D there are many in-depth TTRPGs out there from Tiny D6, Vaesen, Castle and Crusades, Savage Worlds, DragonBorn, to Call of Cthulu, to HARN, to RuneQuest to even mine Legends of Kralis. Find a game that you will enjoy, heck find two or three and support those indie or small press games or even the smaller indies that are upcoming, who spend their extra time and extra side money to build their games and not using Kickstarter to produce a product that they would like not even make without that support. There are hundreds of them. And they all deserve your support.

Hey family and friends. I have not been very attentive to FB over the past year or so. Mostly because I have been working hard on a small dream of mine for sometime.
I have launched a Kickstarter Campaign to bring the final touches to the Legends of Kralis TTRPG.
