Coming this fall: The first full-length album by Mizmor & Hell. Prepare for “Alluvion.” Whereas other instances of ALN & MSW’s musical relationship were based on recorded guest appearances or live lineup assistance, this album shows them working entirely collaboratively for the first time on an album crafted together.

This release will mark the end stage for Gilead Media, and will be one of our final three new releases leading up to the label’s closure. More details on that and Alluvion soon.

Here at Gilead Media we are proud to finally announce the vinyl release for the debut recordings by Kaldeket, Vitiate // Déraciné.

Kaldeket (Minneapolis, MN) was founded in 2021, rising from the ashes of black metal band False. Travis and Kishel initially started Kaldeket as a way to further experiment in a studio environment with a focused, triumphant entity that carried the same beating heart and fiery ferver of their previous band. They quickly released their first demo, Vitiate imposing their will using soaring synth leads, sharpened icy guitar riffs, and a bouncy melodic bass counterparts throughout the entirety of the 3 track onslaught, with a signature organized intensity.

Shortly there after the band quickly began work on their follow up demo, Déraciné. These tracks contains the same assertive attitude and succinct quality throughout the 18:37 runtime, starting promptly with the 8 minute track “Misshapen”, woven carefully with riffs expressing anguish and displacement, the passion extends through the virtuous “Fatuous & Pitiless” leading to the ending track “Grotesque Artifact”, an offering of truculence with a slightly more hopeful resolution.

Gilead Media is proud to once again work with our old friends to present a new chapter in their creative journey, compiling both EPs into a full-length LP listening experience. Kaldeket is here to carry the torch of powerful, melodic, synth-laden black metal, compelling but with elements familiar to their previous works.

This has become one of our favorite eras of Krallice as they continue to bring synths to the forefront more and more. Crystalline Exhaustion and Psychagogue are both presented on 180g black vinyl only. Crystalline comes in a gatefold jacket and includes a vinyl-only bonus track composed just for this release. Psychagogue is in a standard lp jacket. Minimal. Demonic Wealth is in stock and ships beginning the 15th. Presented on standard weight black vinyl with an insert. I did not expect a new Ladytron album to be one of the best of the year so far, but this new record “Time’s Arrow” is a great surprise. This hits a lot like Witching Hour which has long been a favorite of mine. Highly recommended if you’re into electro pop or need some new and different listening.

The BIG GARDEN album is out now. Hear “To the Rind” on your streaming platform of choice. I am so incredibly stoked on this record. It’s a style I’ve loved for years but never had an opportunity to release anything like it. So the chance to work with friends on such a beautiful album is a true blessing. Father Funck says “Deftones by way of HUM” and I feel like that’s a pretty accurate elevator pitch. Tapes are shipping now. The band is playing a show tonight in NOLA, they have a very limited edition test pressing version of the LP with screen printed jackets by our bud at Broken Press. Head through if you’re local. At last! You can hear the new Big Garden album IN FULL before release date this Friday alongside a small interview with Mitch from the band, thanks to our friends at , “the latest — and perhaps greatest — entrant into the early ’90s-style shoegazing, grungy alt-rock revival.”

We know a lot of people aren’t sure what to think of some of our more non metal releases sometimes, but albums like “To the Rind” are going to be right in the wheelhouse of anyone that enjoys anything less metal with a heavy alt/indie vibe. Gilead Media is stoked to finally present To the Rind, the debut full-length recording from New Orleans project Big Garden. Through a heavy dose of 90's alt & indie inspiration, the band has crafted powerful ear-worms of riffs and reverb, heavy on melody and impassioned songwriting. An album unique in the present day that scratches an itch deep in your music listening soul.

Songwriter Mitch Wells started Big Garden during the height of the Covid pandemic as a quarantine outlet, a personal project to focus on during a troublesome time. As the world began to recover Wells brought his long-time bandmate from sludge/doom band Thou, Matthew Thudium, on board to contribute vocals and guitar for the band. Big Garden is now a full 5-piece band with the addition of Greg Manson (bass/synth), Ian Paine-Jesam (drums/percussion), and Craig Oubre (guitar/vocals) to flesh out the lineup.

To the Rind is a wonderful love letter to, and evolution from, the great grungy, gazey, riffy, and spacey sounds of the past carried through a modernized songwriting approach. Wells’ lyrics broach heavy personal topics familiar to so many of us. The ends of relationships, the anxiety of change, and wondering “can I start over? Do I deserve a chance to start over?” And coming to face the fear of failure and the depression that surrounds it all. Big Garden was founded as the channel for these complicated feelings.

"Turns out writing songs is a great way to work through some stuff. It doesn’t fix anything, but it sorta lays it all out there."

And horror movies of course, you gotta write some tunes about horror movies.

The only social activity in my life between 10pm and 2am when I take a break from work. Things we talked about before recording: dogs**t dps in OW and having to carry them. Cheaters and chronus losers. Game breaking updates nobody asked for. Battle passes. Things I forgot to mention: Seth from Arms Aloft having more crowns in Fall Guys than most streamers. Phasmophobia. Don’t Starve. How much I love modded Minecraft. Video game soundtracks (and why I typically don’t like em but a couple rule)

At long last, the arrival of the massive Myopia 2LPs by Mizmor & Thou. The pallets arrived 6 days ago alongside a number of other pressings we had been waiting on and we’ve spent the time since assembling 11,000 records and beginning to ship out all pending preorders. Everyone will receive their shipping notification as we work through thousands of open orders. If you emailed us an address update we have received it and will update your order. If you dm’d it somewhere you should email it instead, dms are not a reliable method of communication. Copies are packed up for bands. Copies are packed up for Redeye to go to retail stores. Copies are allocated for our EU distro partners and will be en route over the next couple weeks. Thanks to everyone that waited so patiently, which was a vast majority of you. Much appreciated as we come out of the toughest year we’ve ever had running the label. We weren't planning on running another Sub Club again. Manufacturing delays in the US have made the last couple years really difficult, but we've been powering through and it seems like turnaround time will stabilize this year for manufacturing. We've moved the majority of our pressing orders back to Europe and the results already seem to be making a huge difference.
