Aparna Bali is a singer trained in Indian classical music, a passionate mother... and a Hindi snob. She married a man who doesn't speak Hindi and they are raising their children outside India, however she was determined to teach her children the language that is so close to her heart. After buying a number of children's Hindi CDs, most of them boring, and all of them painful for parents to listen
to, she started by translating "Twinkle Twinkle" to Hindi - and that became Tim Tim Taare. After singing her children to sleep each night and being encouraged by how well they were receiving it, she decided to adapt more English rhymes and put this album together in the hope that children around the world would have some fun singing these simple songs and more importantly, developing a familiarity to basic Hindi. Aparna had great fun recording the album, with all of the family making cameo appearances. These songs have become a happy part of the lives of Aparna's children.
