Kef seems to understand Hifi from a modern perspective👏👏

I had the pleasure of visiting Kef Music Gallery, Tokyo that opened late last year.

So what do I mean by Kef understanding Hifi from a modern perspective? Audiophiles are strange species… but most “normal” people also love music to some extent, so it’s important to welcome the new generations in a proper way.

The entrance floor on this store has a lot of small active speakers which is a great starting point especially for first time buyers. You get a taste of Hifi.. moving to the other floors you get to LS60 first, then there is over to Reference, Blade and Muon. Something for everyone.

The staff is friendly and fairly young with both male and female employees, they’re eager to let you hear whichever setup you are interested in hearing all from LSX to Muon.

I hope more audio companies take note of how Kef are building and operating their Kef Music Gallery Stores.

Always been a fan of B&W… now after some days in Japan listening to x amount of Accuphase setups.. think I’m becoming a fan of as well 😀

Beautiful handmade products made in Japan that just seem to deliver👌👌

Lotus Eletre.. what a beauty👌 You might have seen that Kef has a LS60 Lotus collaboration edition and obviously this car is packed with a Kef speaker system.

A car with beautiful Uni-Q drivers visible, what’s not to love?😁🤙

Gran Turismo.. one of those movies I was excited about but yet afraid it would flop. Neill Blomkamp delivers👏

Surprisingly well done and entertaining taking the title into consideration.

Picture looks great, has that digital clean look to it.

Audio, sounded very good, great activity in surround channels as well as a few scenes where Atmos channels kicks in as well. Bass also has some good presence through out, maybe not as much as you would expect from crashes but music and those engines.. damn 🔥🔥🔥

Give it a go if you haven’t seen it already, great feel good movie👍

Ballerina on Netflix. I had a lot of fun watching this one, it’s by far not perfect. But it has a lot qualities from Korea that Hollywood often seems to forget.

One being that you don’t know after 10min how this movie in details will unfold, as Quentin Tarantino says.. that is not a story. A Story is something that constantly unfolds when you watch the movie and I feel this is quite clear in this movie although it’s a “simple” revenge movie.

Give it a watch if you like something like a more low budget John Wick movie mixed with some Drive elements👍 With that said cinematography here is👌

Børresen X2, had the pleasure of listening to these brand new loudspeakers last weekend accompanied by Axxess Forte integrated amplifier.

Most likely the most impressive sounding room that weekend taking price into consideration.

Børresen X2 has the tight dry bass that Børresen is known for at a more affordable price level (within the Børresen lineup).

Definitely something too look out for, both the speakers and the new axxess line from if you have been impressed by these guys earlier👌

Hamrammr showing some Norse Power with tracks like this one🔥🔥🔥

Demoing a stereo setup with 10 x 18” inch subs. Processed with a Storm pre pro running Dirac ART. Sounded very good.. also acoustic tracks.. gives an incredible live feeling👌

This for me in Norway at the latest Hifi events has become the room that checks if you’re still grounded. Some incredible high end rooms but then going back to this one and comparing price / value… is the high end hifi setup the way to go?🤷🏻 Great value for the incredible performance in other words👌

IsoAcoustics Gaia 3 in place for the B&W 705 S3 on stands that weight about 22kg each.

Now did it make a difference? I believe it tighten up the sound overall to a certain extent, but not by a lot.

So was it worth it? By the small improvement and the gorgeous looks / quality feel when it’s attached… in my opinion as a ‘’final’’ tweak, yes😊👍

⚡️Audioquest Niagara 1200⚡️

Had the pleasure of trying this one out for couple weeks at home. I was mostly interested in this as earlier I got to try the more expensive Niagara 5000… and boy was that an audible difference 💯

So in my mind I was hoping I would be able to get some kind of audio improvement as with the 5000, maybe not too that extent but some. Unfortunately that was not the case audio performance remained exactly the same with the unit as without.

Now this is just the experience in my room, so it may differ from your home and worth mentioning that this is a power conditioner so it will also protect your electronic devices against things like lightning strike.

⚡️⚡️Personal Conclusion⚡️⚡️

+ Solid built unit that will protect your gear from things like lightning strike.
+ Provide good amount of outlets (7, 2 being high current)

- No audible sound improvement. Magic does most likely not happen before Niagara 3000 and above that has own current reservoir.

How important is this to you when buying products?

Personally owning products from stores likes .no .no and I feel confident that I’m in good hands if any service is needed.

Adding Lyngdorf here as an example as it’s especially nice to be able to reach out directly to the brand and get a reply same day or next day if you just have some questions👍

Hifi Track Recommendation🤗
Get your setup correctly toed in and enjoy this nicely mixed track.

I have to mentioned that I heard this first demo day, thanks to the nice young gentlemen showcasing the Popori speakers using this track among others.

Musical Fidelity Nu Vista 800.2. Il be honest.. I thought at first that this integrated was going to look a bit tacky or cheap based on the photos.

But seeing this in real life, this is actually a very nicely built integrated that offers quite the unique look, display with different VU meters etc.

And most important of all.. it sounded very good connected to a pair of Ø audio speakers👌🏻

Hifi is not just audio.. especially when it comes to headphones.. it’s the esthetics up close, the comfort and how it makes you feel.

Here trying out a pair of Meze 109 Pro at Duet Audio in Oslo. One of those stores that provides great friendly service and has in my opinion the best setup of headphones and amplifiers in town, make sure to check it out if you’re into headphones🤗

The best value for money product in my movie room, M-1. These sound great for their price but… these are also the most annoying products in my movie room. Yes annoying.. I’m exaggerating a bit😶

The product is old and still now… if anyone ask B&W, like Director of Product Marketing Andy Kerr.. what to supply with on wall etc with your 700 S3 series or 800 D4 series, the answer is still the M1s.

It’s about time Bowers & Wilkins that you put some priority on a line or upgrade the versions of these, for the customers that can’t do in wall😤

strength of will, determination, perseverance.

This was an excellent entertaining movie.. Give us another Sisu movie please👍

Visually good looking on close ups and the open fields looks stunning as well in most cases.

Atmos is in use a few times when planes fly over the legend himself. Bass has some depth to it, maybe not so much the weapons itself but the vehicles has a good presence as well as some of the close to slow motion sequences that kicks in before or during the action scenes.

All in all a very good transfer even though it’s only for streaming at this moment. A movie that I highly recommend you watch, especially if you like John Wick type of movies.
