Figuring out new ways to put age in perspective at our ages is increasing difficult. My son helped me out with a new one this summer. We were out on the beach on the Oregon Coast after midnight in an area with few lights. He pointed up and said "there goes a satellite". I looked up and spotted a small, star-like object speeding across the sky. A few minutes later, we spotted another one, then another one. Six altogether in about an hour. "I've never seen those before," I said. He looked at me a little confused. "I would think it would have been easy for you to see them growing up on a farm with no light pollution,". I just smiled. "There were no satellites in orbit to see when I was on the farm,". He stared at me a moment, then it hit him. "You're older than satellites!". So there you have it. From now on when someone asks how old I am, I will just say "I'm older than satellites!"😀
