There's a planet party scheduled this week, and amateur astronomers across the globe are invited (clear skies permitting).

If you look up toward the western horizon within half an hour or so of sunset, you should spot Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Uranus reaching up from the horizon toward the moon, according to the Associated Press. Your best chance to get a quality view will be on Tuesday, March 28.

Uranus — which glows green — and Mercury may be harder to see compared to their brighter counterparts, AP noted, so don't hesitate to bring some binoculars along if you want to make sure you catch a glimpse of the whole celestial cast.

Oh yea remember when I used to paint? Covid zapped that long before motherhood - while others used the time to tap into unknown depths of their art or were motivated by imitating tik tok trends, my inspiration dissolved into the collective anxiety and despair. Of course as the inspiration returned, motherhood zapped my time and energy but I’m happy to say that I’ve regained both the desire and capacity to create again! It feels good.

Held back tears at my visit to the PMA today. I decided to take Lula to check out pay what you wish and the kid programming and was rewarded with a surprise (to me) Studio Drift exhibit. I’ve been massive fans of their work and though I’ve visited their studio to film them, I’ve never seen a piece in person. The Fragile Future series has been a favorite - each of the dandelion seeds is carefully plucked and glued to an LED. Lula enjoyed exploring too and pay what you wish means I didn’t feel bad for only looking at paintings with dogs, horses and cows in them.

Last time I was here it was with a naked baby bundled in a blanket after a blow out in the car. This year it was a fruitless search for a sensory taco. Motherhood is weird.

Rainy days like this remind me of the 100 miles I hiked with my sister, in the Smokies. It was cold and rainy and windy and beautiful and ended with a breathtaking sunset.

My mom took this picture and assumed I wouldn’t want a copy. I think instead of seeing this as sweet moment sleeping off a hangover with my daughter snuggled on me she thought I’d see my belly hanging out of my shirt. It’s taken me a lot of work through the years to not delete pictures that show a double chin or an unflattering angle despite being an amazing moment. I hope my daughter doesn’t have to do much work unlearning the shame society puts on different bodies.
