ShekinahToday came out of the deep desire to write and express about occurences of our daily lives as well as what we observe in the world around us. There should not be anything we would write about which could not be published beacuse “it would not fit”. Poetry and other creative forms of writing should have as much room as articles and reports. Our hunt for naming our News link took us to fore
ign languages and finally it led us to the Hebrew language word ” Shekinah”. Shekinah is the heartfelt satisfaction when we observe beautiful things around us like a wonderful sunrise beating the darkness of night , the long awaited singing of cuckoo after a weary winter or a stunning innocent smile of a baby. Such is what gives us hope and strength when we face diffcult situations in our lives and what keeps us from getting desparate and hopeless and help us braving the struggles of the day. We find Shekinah in every corner of our lives but at the same time it seems to be missing occassionally when we need it the most. Where is Shekinah in the troubles of the war? Where is Shekinah when a child suffers hunger? Where is Shekinah when natural disasters sweep villages and towns killing hundereds of innocent people? We believe Shekinah describes our idea of a blog in a perfect manner. It gives us the opportunity to write about all the wonderful things we see but it also allows us to ask critical questions which may take more than one try to be answered. Shekinah is about to search, to find, to explore, to feel and to understand the commonality of experiences and moments we face in our lives sooner or later and to learn from each other experiences and ideas. We encourage our readers to leave comments and to share their ideas with us .
