Next Tuesday for Halloween we're re-releasing a new version of a covid era short we made, 'The Meat Man'.
6 minutes whittled down to just a minute short, some different shots and a re-colour grade to give a little throw back 80's slasher piece a new coat of paint.
Sue 2 and Kicking Poo
We've finally got over our mourning of Susan the drone and moved on to our latest sky nuisance Sue 2.
What better way to take her maiden flight virginity than us flinging poo around? Can't think of a more perfect visual analogy for our content.
In our next video either Sue 2 exploded or we've got a pyro ending and we really lean into making poo content...
4 years ago we welcomed Susan the drone into the Red Tusk family, she flew just 3 times for us and managed to snap a leg, lose a propeller, lose a camera, lose another camera, hit a tree, land in a river, land in the sea, fall into thorn filled and oddly smelly bushes and eventually die altogether.
It's taken a while but we've finally moved on, last night taking our newer drone out for a spin. As you can see we might have some teething issues.

This Sunday, part II of our behind the scenes as we make a 'music' video for a band we've not met yet.
Flashing back to filming Rebel, everyone thought I was taking the p**s by making them hold up a bed sheet while we filmed. However as you can see it made a big difference to the shot and the way it looked as it bounced the sun back onto the scene. I loved the look but forgot from then on to use it..
Really should've used this technique more in filming...

*Meat Man Redux*
Some more screens from our re-edit of Meat Man for which we've gone full stark black and white complete with new audio and scenes. Still more work to do but it's an improvement over the first version.
**3D FX TESTS**
For the past few months we've been learning how to use 3D modelling software to bring new production values to our work. We're still super newbie at it but the progression is coming along nicely, here's a test sequence we've created where everything bar the cars was hand modelled textured and animated.
Our new cut of 'Meat Man' features our very first full 3D modelled shot, hopefully it blends so well no one will really notice it's full CG!

Been a long while since we done one of these! We went back up the moors to shoot some new scenes for our new version of 'Meat Man'.
**The Meat Man**
Like all good Hollywood studios we've decided the best foot forward is actually going backwards, with a 'Directors Cut/Reboot/Remake' of the short we released last year 'Meat Man'.
Deciding we could do better with the edit and make a much more clearer short story we've dug out the old footage and gone and reshot some new scenes to add context and fill in a few gaps the original edit lacked.

**Finally...**
We're back!
This weekend we dusted off the cameras, lights and microphones and headed down to Newquay to film a promotional piece for Hoons Barbers and Mobsters Emporium.
It felt good to be back in the saddle again, a great atmosphere, great weather and a great job by all involved. Now to the editing suite...

**Showreel - 2013/2020** We've not been able to do much this past year like we had hoped we would, however it's good to look back and see how much we have done and achieved overall.
