Filip Akesson, professionally known as Philgood, is a Swedish DJ and producer. Working with close personal friend and Co-producer Tim Bergling (Avicii), the duo came together during the late 2000s under the name “Avicii vs. Philgood” and took their musical talents and capitalized on the worldwide House takeover. From 2008 through early 2010, Philgood showcased his talents at select clubs and event
s across the United States and Europe. Philgood moved to Los Angeles in 2010 to study audio engineering at the renowned Musicians Institute. During this time, Philgood launched his own career performing at several clubs in the Los Angeles area while mastering his own production skills. Sidetracked by his own personal battles, Philgood took a break from producing and performing to discover himself apart from the music. In 2018, childhood friend and co-producer Avicii passed away, leading Philgood into a dark spiral in the wake of Tim’s untimely death. After months of soul-searching, Philgood made the decision that he would carry forward the Avicii legacy and everything Tim taught him to honor his late friend. Philgood found his way to Troy University in 2019, where he began studying marketing. Philgood, honoring his promise to his late friend, began to make music again in late 2021, kicking off what Philgood and Manager Connor Brasell refer to as the “Renaissance Tour.”
