Our beloved Heretics!
After some much needed downtime and some serious introspection, we have decided we can no longer move forward with the podcast.
With our often 60+ hour professional work weeks, dedicating what was frequently 20 hours a week to researching, writing and recording each segment meant the three of us never had a full weekend in 3-1/2 years. We discussed the possibility of dedicating less time to each show, but we felt a responsibility to craft as accurate, engaging and even occasionally funny segments as we possibly could. So it was decided it was better to let it go rather than move forward with a show we couldn’t stand 100% behind.
It is with heavy hearts that we make this announcement. We will forever be grateful to the community that formed around our weird little show. Your listenership, your generous patronage, your amazing correspondence and your love of the work sustained us through hard times and good ones too. We were thrilled to meet those of you we could in person, and we'll never forget our 40-person, unauthorized tour of Temple Square with so many of you!
All 189 episodes of the show will be forever on iTunes, at our website and broken-down by segments on Youtube for you to enjoy and share in perpetuity. While, despite our best efforts, unhealthy and even dangerous supernaturalism still exists, we hope we’ve made a compelling case against it in almost 600 segments. And we hope that maybe some of those we’ve touched out there on White Jesus’ internet will take up the torch and continue the good work of casting a skeptical eye on preposterous truth claims, horrendous events, and pious men of low character that is the great bulk of religious history on this 6,000 year old, flat planet. And most importantly, please keep extending a helping hand to those that have been damaged by all of the above.
