Audio Arts Recording Studio is run by Simon Widdowson an English producer, recording engineer, arranger, musician and songwriter with over 25 years experience, working in studios in the US and Europe with some of the most respected artists and studio engineers and producers
In 2015 he created a new studio in a beautiful remote location near Saillans in France. The studio and guest residence is in a converted farm building with high ceilings and stone walls which provide a rich acoustic experience. The place is equipped with the best based analog and digital equipment including ProTools, Apogee microphone preamps, Audient preamps, Neumann and AKG microphones, API equalisers, Drawmer compressors, Universal Audio plugins etc
Instrument backline includes Fazer upright piano, Moog Sub 37 synth, Dave Smith Instruments Prophet Synth, Fender Blues Deluxe, Fender Telecaster, Guild Acoustic? Tama Swingstar Drums etc
The studio is available for musicians, bands, solo artists and anyone who wants to spend time in a really nice place working on music.
The studio is 20 minutes from the nearest village of Saillans which is about 2 hours southeast of Lyon. It's a beautiful, relaxing and inspiring place to work on your next musical project. .
Simon Widdowson founded the successful Are You Listening Recording Studio in Portland Oregon in the late 90's and recorded albums for dozens of artists including: Decemberists, Pete Krebs, Little Sue, Charmparticles, Man of the Year, Papillon and Hindi Guns.
In Cork Ireland from 2005 to 2008 he recorded and produced albums for several notable Irish artists including red Herrings, Driven, Arm the Elderly. Box Camera, Secret Police and Dardanelles.
Moving to France in 2007 Simon has worked freelance in various studios in Lyon with many successful French artists including: Karimouche, Zen Zila, Nanan, Remongway and Novox. He is also a voiceover actor and French to English translator for various studios and local media.
