We are honoured to be shortlisted for Social Mobility Initiative of The Year at the British Diversity Awards sponsored by Burberry and Imperial Brands.

The UK has one of the lowest rates of social mobility in the developed world. And it isn't easy to achieve in a society where low-income families have to spend more time working for less pay than building their talents and creating opportunities that could see them progress, and that's why sharing our stories of navigation are so important.

Data shows that many people from diverse communities are traditionally less likely to go to university, so we must improve the outcomes for disadvantaged pupils and young people from left-behind areas.

Social mobility can be achieved through mentorship and the proper access to quality training and role models, improving the digital skills gap and access to high speed and quality internet. Because levelling the playing field is the key to improving health and life outcomes for disadvantaged people.
