Collective of underground experimental electronic manipulators, tape (cassette) label in the 90s, CD (CDr) label in the early Y2K, inactive since the Mp3/iPod revolution. WRECK AGE recordings started as a sanctuary for artists who would otherwise go compleelly un-noticed. Montreal projects who, up until the 90s, remained unknown to any possible public now had the chance to release their music, un-

hindered by the commercial restrictions of popular appeal, without the need to stumble and format their sound to fit any restrictive categories or styles. Going in the opposite direction of the mainstream, strictly based on the ideal that art should not be interfered with by any media, profit monger, or disposable fashion treads, WRECK AGE recordings was about helping the release and promotion of true experimentalists, both locally and internationally, to the ever-growing pre-internet networking of the tape-culture of the 90s. Some projects existed long before WRECK AGE, others were born out of WRECK AGE's existance, and some existed AFTER the demise of the label in the earlier Y2K when tapes and CDs became a thing of the past, making way to the new generation of virtual MP3 music formats. After a decade of mostly inactivity, WRECK AGE's rebirth came in 2012 when a new musical approach and direction from its two main projects required to re-ignite the Montreal-based micro label. However, as of may 2013, the future remains still unstable; will the label release hard copy versions of their releases (i.e. CDs) or shall it follow the modern "1Tune" trends of virtual MP3 formats only?

2/3 of the « gear » brought did not work, facebook doesn’t allow live recordings anymore, it was too windy and real cold. But live noise at 9h45am on oct. 26 2024. Wish I had a portable battery operated mixer.

"Staella​-​Static​-​Machinea​-​Organic" is the 5th and possibly the FINAL/SWAN SONG album from The Impromptu Theater Noise Project. A 6th album was also recorded but is reserved to be released on another label. While the band is NOT breaking up, future releases may be limited to compilation submission, or singles/EPs. The decision was unanimous and strictly in order to allow less constricted forms or expression.

As always, only the listener can draw their own conclusions in terms of the WHY/WHAT such a project / such noise was birthed, and what "meaning" it has. After all, the creators only meant to find a form of expression, and once it's out there, it's only for the (ahem...) "audience" to figure out if there is any worthwhile reason for it all.

To quote The Legendary Pink Dots: "sing While You May!".
