I'm sure you've seen the people -- they like to post regularly on LinkedIn, but haven't got a deep bench of post ideas

So - they post the same thing again and again and again and again

It kind of reminds me a of movie I saw once.

And -- sometimes it makes me feel like Bill Murray's character Phil felt.

𝗜'𝗩𝗘 𝗦𝗘𝗘𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗦 𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝗕𝗘𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗘 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗜'𝗠 𝗧𝗜𝗥𝗘𝗗 𝗢𝗙 𝗜𝗧!!! 😡

YES being consistent and making sure you're "on brand" is important, but think of new ways to say things.

In my private group, I give post ideas on a regular basis -- so if you're stuck in a rut and need some new ideas -- try to find some inspiration or ideas somewhere.

I'm in the process of updating/creating and recreating a YouTube channel where I answer these questions, and you can find them or share them.

In my group program (accountability and training) I tell my clients that they can ask me ANY LinkedIn-related question at ANY time.

AND they do ask at ANY time because they know I invite that. A post with a question might show up at 11:30 on a Friday night -- and everyone knows they might not get an answer before Monday morning but my policy is to ASK THE QUESTION WHEN YOU THINK OF IT (and before it goes away).

I won't allow AI to answer questions my people are asking me.

For fun, I looked up some synonyms for "artificial"

One of the things I often hear from people about why they avoid LinkedIn is that they get spam messages.

This morning I woke up to this message from Dennis (or is it Alexander). The profile has since been removed.

Here's the deal -- I can look at a message like this and say OH MY GOSH!!!! MUST AVOID SPAM or

In the past week I have received two messages that I would consider SPAM

In the past week I have received THIRTY messages that are of some value -- whether it be an introduction to someone I should meet, me introducing some other people to each other, an inquiry about my work, or other conversations that build relationships --

I DO NOT want to lose 30 messages in order to avoid one or two.

And if you're not getting great connections (and great direct messages) on LinkedIn, talk to me. Perhaps I can look at your profile and make suggestions on ATTRACTING people.

Because I won't let Dennis, or David, or Alexander keep me away from Gillian and Jeff and Alison and Rhonda and Alexandra and Christina and Diana and Deb and ...

• LinkedIn is filled with ghosts and goblins and scary creatures 👻
▶️ WELL -- not so much. LinkedIn does have a share of trolls, but the trick is to learn not to give them any treats. If nobody gives them treats here, they might just wander over to another neighborhood.

• I don't have the right costume for LinkedIn
▶️ "Back in the day" LinkedIn was more homogenized. There were more suits and ties (and like ALL the ties were either red or blue -- explain that to me). In 2023 you are welcome to come to LinkedIn as YOURSELF -- even if you are a bit of a witch. (TRUE STORY - if you go to search use the term "witch" and narrow to people, you'll find 46K results including Julie Nelson 👋 HI JULIE)

LinkedIn -- it's truly not scary - and if you hang out on LinkedIn enough you'll find a lot of treats.

This week I have been giving my opinion on the recent decision LinkedIn made to have a restriction of the number of personalized invites that a free (non premium) account could make.

SCRATCH THAT -- REVERSE ...

"👏👏 I didn't think I would ever get to write this...
.. but it seems that LinkedIn listened to us all and has reversed the decision to force free users to upgrade to Premium if they want to continue sending connection request messages with each of their connection requests."

Needless to say -- when I heard this I broke out into my happy dance.

(and I'm now required by PETA to report that no animals were harmed during this dance).
