Hi Folks! The date for the new water distribution schedule was incorrect. It will be starting this week, July 30th. The new schedule is Tuesday 4:00 to 6:00, Wednesday 10:00 to 12:00 and Thursday 4:00 to 6:00.

We have a massive water leak involving well #2 on Duncan Mansion. We had to shut the valve off in order to get it fixed. Flynn Drilling is onsite and we hope to have the problem fixed soon. We apologize for any inconvenience.

THE DUMPSTER IS DELIVERED AND GARY IS PAINTING AN ORANGE CIRCLE WHERE LARGE METAL SCRAP AND ITEMS SHOULD BE PUT.

ATTENTION!!!

Meridian will be supplying a big collection dumpster today 06/20/24 at the end of Hickory Street. I cannot stress to you enough that NONE of the items listed below are allowed to go into that dumpster!!!!!

Unacceptable Waste shall mean Hazardous Waste, Biomedical Waste, Tires, paints, paint solvents, Treated Wood, unemptied aerosol cans, C&D Waste, compressed gas cylinders, large automobile or truck parts, large engine parts, small engines containing oils or fuels, chemicals, large glass panes, any yard waste including large tree debris, stumps, ammunition of any type, dead animals larger than 10 lbs, fi****ms, as well as any and all waste of which the acceptance and handling by Contractor would cause a violation of any permit condition, legal or regulatory requirement, substantial damage to Contractor's equipment or facilities, or present a substantial danger to the health or safety of the public or Contractor's employees.

THIS IS ALSO A PART OF OUR CONTRACT. PLEASE NOTE THIS MUST BE SCHEDULED IN ADVANCE WITH MERIDIAN AND NO OTHER ITEMS WILL BE PICKED UP! THE CONTACT NUMBER YOU MUST CALL IS 314-291-3131 CITY HALL WILL NOT BE ABLE TO HELP WITH THIS.

Bulky Waste: The Contractor will provide on-call once weekly Collection of Bulky Waste of one item per household from the Designated Collection Location of the Service Unit that generated the Bulky Waste. Additional Bulky Waste Items collection shall be at the rate designated in Exhibit A. Contractor shall not be deemed to be in default of this Contract in the event the Service Unit does not timely place for Collection such Bulky Waste in the Designated Collection Location. Residents must call in advance and schedule the collection of Bulky Waste.

We have had several calls regarding activity in New Town. AW Communications is taking the antenna off of the water tower as it has been sold along with the radio repeater. Also, there are surveyors that have been present and will continue to be present in town in regard to work for the water project. I hope this clarifies things.

Hello folks! Our utilities website is up and running. If you go to https://silexutilities.com and create an account you will be able to view your bill, pay your bill, check your usage, etc. Terra also has a card swiper at her desk now and she can take your credit card payments. Of course, we will still have the payment drop box and in person cash payment options. We are excited for this change! If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us.

Our contract with Meridian waste was up for renewal recently. We obtained bids from other companies and the Board voted to keep Meridian as our trash provider. The new pickup day will be Friday and goes into effect THIS Friday! The current rate has been in effect without increase for at least a decade. This contract goes into effect immediately and new rates will apply. More information to follow. Please don't forget to set your trash out on Thursday instead of Sunday including this Thursday because they are giving us a second pickup this week to get on the current schedule.
