We can achieve age reversal by adopting a healthy lifestyle! I have always been adamant about my well-being throughout my entire life! But like any one of us, even though I am less influenced by the general mindset, I started letting myself go a little bit after I have turned 40. I was accepting the fact that I will have a bit of a bigger belly and be a little less fit than in my younger age, and

that it was OK since things change after you reach a certain age. Today I am healthier fitter and happier than I have ever felt before, and I have always been a happy, healthy, and fit person. With 50 YY (Fifty Years Young), I want to share all my findings of how to keep healthy, fit, and happy with oneself. I want to share my extensive knowledge about how to deal with injuries, and the best practices to avoid them or heal them if they occur. All the tips about healthy and balanced nutrition, and how it can help you not only feel younger and healthier but how you can heal from some potential ailments, such as high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes...etc. However, 50 YY goes beyond just showing fitness routines, nutrition guidelines, and a few tips on health and how to deal with injuries. It's about an exciting lifestyle, full of exciting activities, sports tutorials, like self-defense, mixed martial arts, tennis, swimming, free diving, bodyboarding, hiking, horse riding, rollerblading, snow skiing, healthy kitchen recipes, natural healing and natural remedies, filming, photography, travel, fashion, tech... and the list goes on! HOW MY FITNESS SAVED MY LIFE!

To tell you the truth, it’s my lifestyle and my fitness that has saved my life. I suffered an arterial thrombosis, A blood clot has formed in my arteries which has caused me a severe tachycardia and a heart attack. The doctors initially thought I had a blockage due to plaque and they used catheterization to investigate my arteries and eventually put a stent if there was a blockage due to plaque, however my arteries were squeaky clean no blockage and no plaque whatsoever, just as told the doctors because I knew my nutrition and my activity would haven’t prevented that, and I was right. The blood clot was the culprit and despite all the hypothesis of what could have caused it we couldn’t figure out how it happened. I had never been on any medication, my nutrition and my fitness are on point and I was perfectly healthy… a pure picture of youth and health. When my tachycardia started and I nearly fainted while I was driving, I pulled over and I thought maybe because I was just too tired because I was overworked, so I drove back home and I took my blood pressure measurement only to find it was very low, but the measuring device kept giving me an error regarding my heartbeat. This was nearly 15 minutes after my tachycardia started and without knowing it, I was suffering a heart attack in the mean time. So I got so concerned and I drove to the ER and only after they received me and ran an ECG they realized I was in a life-threatening situation. When they took me to the ICU they could not understand how I was talking walking standing up normally as if I was not having anything despite the life-threatening situation I was in. Thank God I drove to the ER because I was thinking I was just too tired Otherwise if I had decided to just stay home I would have passed away. Following this event of course I will have to take things easy and be careful but my fitness routines were in no way the cause of this event, to the contrary, It’s what actually saved my life!

So you want to keep fit, Young and happy? JUST DANCE!! Maybe after all one the biggest secrets to what keeps me young in body and spirit is dancing! I danced my whole life everywhere I could, alone in my bedroom, in the street, in the gym, in restaurants, in the bus, in the train, on a plane and above all the dance floor… all around the world with no exception, I owned every dance floor everywhere!!

“Don't limit your challenges, challenge your limits”

I came across a quote on Linked In the other day and it landed with a gut-punch; “Don’t limit your challenges, challenge your limits” (Jerry Dunn).  It perfectly, and succinctly, describes a very human reaction to being (or trying not to be) overwhelmed.  All at once I could feel the energy I used to resist anything that was even remotely disruptive, and what it cost me to be so fixated on protecting the status quo.  Curiosity, growth and well-being become collateral damage when our first response is one of resistance.  How much of the energy we use in a day is directed towards reducing disruption, protecting future well-being, at the cost of our well-being in the present?

Challenging your limits sounds a lot like embracing chaos, but it is less about being so open you overwhelm yourself, and more about being fully present in your work, so you can be more understanding with what is happening, because opportunity is often disguised as a challenge.  You can miss that next great career move, or damage a valuable connection, without meaning to when you operate from a place that feels at the edge of your limits.  When you’ve listened, been open to exploring, you are no longer teetering on an edge, but giving yourself room to maneuver.  And if you do need to say “no” you will be more credible and more compassionate in doing so, keeping your relationships intact, possibly even strengthening them.  Challenging your limits means you pause long enough to understand what it is all about before deciding what to do.

Back to the gym, this time in Savate mode, I love Muay Thai but French Kickboxing Savate was also a discipline I excelled at and I always like to do Savate drills, though not often as I should! Savate is a very effective combat sport and ideal for self defense, kicking with the shoes with the tip of the foot can break robs and jaws, also a lot of kicking is focused on the legs and how to literally destroy knees, shins, thighs and ankles rendering an attacker unable to move! 🥊

My fast recovery from surgery was gradually achieved starting with buco le rides, both using my montano bike and a stationary bike just 3 weeks after my surgery. Whenever you need to get back in shape, recover from an injury or like in my case, a major surgery, biking is one of the best, easiest, safest ways to get back to activity.
