We love local music. Now is the time to recognize the abundance of talent in the Tennessee Valley, and to reward its most fervent, talented, and yet-to-be-discovered performers of music in all genres.

🚨 📅 Event Calendar Change Announcement 📅 🚨
Tomorrow 8/18 and next Wednesday, 8/25/21, will be the last two SPRINGBOARD open mic nights at Scruffy City Hall indefinitely. In cooperation with the crew at Scruffy, we are putting the weekly comedy open mic on hold starting in September, and will resume when COVID case numbers drop again to safer levels.

This also includes ceasing future bookings for all True Grit Comedy Safekicker comedy events. We will monitor the news for ongoing updates, and will post another update if any changes will be made to the recurring events Dem Apples comedy open mic at Gypsy Circus, Kingsport; and Sundays for BrunchBEATS at Barrelhouse in Knoxville.

In the meantime, please take precautions for yourself and others when attending indoor or crowded events - consider getting vacvinated if you have not; wear a face covering indoors when not eating or drinking; maintain safe space with social distancing. Thank you for your continuous love and support of True Grit Comedy and Safekicker, we look forward to planning more fun together with y'all again.

Now that was fun! Thanks to all the comics who came out to share laughs with the community friends who stayed to giggle the evening away with us. Kudos to Barrelhouse for providing their big, beautiful space to performing artists from all disciplines (but ESPECIALLY live comedy ❤)
