Angelique is a Mental Health advocate and Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault survivor and advocate. She is a California native from Haitian/ Bahamian/Indigenious descent. She received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the White House & AmeriCorps. She has received recognition from the Senator of Georgia, the City of Anaheim, CA, and Angelique also received the Women's Empowerment Leadership Award.

Thanks to our generous supporters, we raised over $370,000 to provide free legal representation and advocacy for low-income, immigrant survivors in our community.

We are excited to announce actress/comedian, Angelique Bates, as our Celebrating Survivors Gala Master of Ceremonies!

Angelique is a veteran in the entertainment industry. You may remember her from the #1 hit television show "All That" Nickelodeon as one of the original cast members for 2 Seasons. Angelique is a Mental Health advocate and Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault survivor and advocate. She received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the White House & AmeriCorps. And received recognitions from the Senator of Georgia and from the City of Anaheim, Ca. Angelique also received the Women’s Empowerment Leadership Award.

We are thrilled to have her joining us tomorrow night!

The Beastly Ball fundraising gala, lauded as one of the best parties in town, will return with actor, comedian, and host Joel McHale on Saturday, at the Los Angeles Zoo. McHale, who believes “there should be a great zoo in every great city and a great snack bar in that zoo,” will emcee this evening of fun and philanthropy in support of the Zoo and Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association's shared mission to save species and connect people with nature.

Honorees this year include City Councilmember Tom LaBonge, who will be Honored Posthumously with the Betty White Conservation Hero Award, along with Longtime GLAZA Trustee Diann Kim.
