Il se dégage de la musique de Captain Of The Lost Waves un relent de souffrance, qui a peut-être à voir avec l’épreuve qu’a traversée récemment The Captain (percuté, son véhicule, lui et sa famille, par une voiture volée poursuivie par la police), mais plus sûrement encore avec l’exquis positionnement d’un troubadour, libre, raccordé en pensée aux sages d’antan, aux accents vocaux évocateurs du chant de Peter Gabriel – la comparaison s’arrête là (mais elle est entêtante). Ses compositions sont douces, belles, simples et profondément vivantes, arrangées avec un soin parcimonieux (The Captain donne de la voix, joue du bouzouki – «A Joyful Disturbance» – et de la guitare, Damian Clark est aux claviers et synthétiseurs et Wendy Ross s’occupe du violon, présent sans ostentation) pour une présence tenace, de celle qui s’enracine loin dans la terre et assure à son corpus une croissance, imperceptible et inébranlable. Ce n’est pas le seul titre oxymore de l’album, mais «Success in Failure» est ma chanson préférée.

Atom Stone is set to headline Smash Fest II at the Diesel Concert Lounge in Chesterfield, Michigan, celebrating the release of their debut album, "Take Me To The Fire." The band's set list will feature their hit singles "Battlefield" and "Hate Love."

Throughout the evening, Atom Stone will be available to sign copies of the new CD. Additionally, a limited number of high-quality T-shirts featuring artwork by the renowned illustrator Ed Unitsky will be available for purchase.

“The Ohio-based art-rock trio of Ian Beabout (vo/synth/fl), Nathan James (b/vo/key), and Derek Pavlic (g/vc/key) is back with their 4th album from '23! This is the first album after their return to Melodic Revolution Records in the US.

The band's musical tastes seem to have been boiled together, with themes ranging from contemporary environmental issues and folklore, from a slightly dirty and loose rock sound with a pronounced country/blues-rock influence to acoustic scenes with clear synth/flute intervention with a hint of Canterbury pop to R&B-tinged "danceable" numbers to songs that are straight out of the chaotic psychedelic rock of the late '60s.

The band's music is more progressive than progressive. The album offers a sound that is more like so-called "mixture rock" than "progressive rock," as if their musical tastes are all stewed together. What awaits the listener after listening to the playful and free-spirited arrangements, which will betray the listener's expectations? This is a work that you should definitely hear for yourself.”
