A little wordy down here ⬇️ (TW: skin picking)
I didn’t pick at my skin or squeeze anything for 9 days while I was down in Naarm/Melbourne and I came back to some of the worst congestion of my life, so naturally, I went back to plucking my brows and squeezing my pores until I made my skin angry.
The photo here was taken a week ago, and it improved from there, but I made it worse by going “digging for gold” when I got home.
Old habits die hard, I guess.

This is Roxy, my Aunty’s doggo. She crossed the rainbow bridge in November at the age of 14 (or 15?) after giving close to 11 wonderful years to my aunt and uncle. She came from a not so great home, and found herself the queen of the house, and the best older sister to newcomer Bella.
This particular illustration took me months as it was very detailed, and I spent a while getting her shadows right. I also had to make it larger than my usual plaques because of the level of detail (it was a nightmare to w**d the vinyl)!

I forgot to bring deodorant/antiperspirant with me, so it’s time for another edition of Rivet Goes Grocery Shopping featuring .au.
[Purchased with my own money]
I usually use roll on, but I do miss that cool feeling of aerosol, so I ended up choosing the Gem Skin-Loving Deodorant in the Cool Fresh scent.
Despite being labelled a deodorant, it does contain aluminium salts, so it should also act as an antiperspirant, which is what I am going for.
It’s pricier than what I usually go for (*cough* Aldi roll on *cough*) but I’ll give it a shot. If I don’t feel all sticky and stinky after shvitzing, I’ll know it does the job.

Happy new year!
I took a break from content over the holidays to work on some art projects. I’ve been practicing inking and illustration, plus I’ve made some tshirts, stickers, decals and such.
I am going to be away as of next week, heading down to Naarm/Melbourne for a bit before coming back and I guess I’ll be doing the things I need to around the house. I have no solid plans as yet, but it will involve a lot of flatpacks!
Hope everybody takes care and stays cool this summer. Remember to wear sun protection!

A new SPF range has launched at Priceline!

A couple of weeks back, my Mum and I went to the meet & greet at the IMAX (we had the entire venue to ourselves for a Q&A!)
We kinda watched Brian Christopher Slots as a family. I’d put on a video in the morning to watch with my coffee, Dad would be cheering on from the kitchen when BC hit a jackpot.
I actually found his channel via Mum’s YouTube recs on the living room TV, so I started watching his videos and subscribed myself because I enjoyed his commentary and catchphrases. I’m not a gambler, nor do I play the pokies, I just really find him entertaining!
I hinted at a meet & greet last year, so I’m glad they got to do one thanks to . Also, a huge thanks to BC’s lovely husband , producer/behind the scenes guy Raymond, and the rest of the BC Slots team, I hope you boys had a lovely time here and on the cruise. Maybe I’ll join next year ☺️

Ciara also put some jet black foils underneath to give my hair depth. I had to chop it a bit because of the breakage, but it worked out and it’s ready for Halloween! (My costume this year is based on stuff I had lying around, I didn’t have to buy anything else for it!)

Plantur 39 (by Dr Wolff) is designed for women and AFAB folks over 40 who are experiencing hair thinning due to hormonal factors. I’m not quite 40 yet, but I’ve always had fine hair and my insides are definitely way older than 40 anyway, so I’m the ideal candidate! I got to try some of these products for the Beauty Heaven Best In Beauty Trial Team.
Phyto-Caffeine Shampoo for Fine, Brittle Hair
So Mum’s been using the bloke’s version of this shampoo forever (Alpecin Double Caffeine Shampoo) and this is basically the women’s version of that. I like this shampoo and I’m actually surprised that it cleans so well without stripping too much colour out. You have to leave it on your scalp for a few minutes to get the benefits of caffeine, but it works.
Caffeine Conditioner for Coloured and Stressed Hair
This is the lightest conditioner I have ever used, because it is designed for fine hair. I don’t know what it is, but it doesn’t feel like it’s going to actually detangle your hair, but it does. It’s the perfect formula.
It doesn’t matter if you’re under 40, if you have fine hair, give these a go.

Things the TGA should do: SUNSCREEN EDITION (Reposted due to typo in original video) . Sometimes I think the TGA is making a mockery of sun safety like how they’re preventing influencers from talking about how a registered sunscreen feels, wears, performs under makeup, or whether it has eye sting (aka providing a testimonial) if it was received in PR, which help our audiences with choosing the right sunscreen for themselves and encourages its use, but still haven’t cracked down on regulating SPF claims on makeup, products with lousy low SPF ratings saying they’ve got “broad spectrum protection” when you can never wear enough to get that level of protection without looking like a caked mess, and banning the sale of tanning oils/products that promote their use for achieving a tan from the sun (yes, you can still buy that sh*t because of a loophole!) .
