We were going to buy mince pies in the UK, because they started showing up on shelves over there before we came home, but we couldn’t find any that didn’t expire before Christmas! We bought a package of 8 Christmas crackers at @asda for only £5 while we were in the UK and I was excited to see if the contents inside were any different than the Christmas crackers that we usually get here in the states every year. When we got to the airport, however, they wouldn’t let them through security because of the gunpowder in them, which hadn’t even crossed my mind! 🤦🏻♀️ So, we had to give them up to be donated to charity. When we got back home, we thought we’d go to World Market, which is where we’ve bought Christmas crackers from in the past to see what they had, and for how much. Theirs are a bit more than £5!

I had a Full English (Welsh?) Breakfast when we were in Wales and it was fabulous! I only ordered a half portion because it just sounded like too much food and it still included fried tomato, mushrooms, 1 sausage, 1 bacon, beans, 1 piece of sourdough toast, 1 hash brown and an egg! We could’ve split a full portion of the “Full Breakfast” (which was only £7!), but Dominic decided to go full-on American and ordered chicken and waffles instead! I don’t normally care for British baked beans, but these were fabulous! Also, I generally only eat my eggs scrambled, but he didn’t ask how I wanted my egg cooked and I never even thought about specifying for some reason. When I tell you how I was dipping my toast into the yolk of that egg! 🤣 I don’t know what happened, but I may be a convert? Anyway, we both cleaned our plates, so I think that means we enjoyed! We started eating mince pies in October simply because we could! We normally wouldn’t start eating holiday treats until well after Thanksgiving, when at home in the states. But, a box of mince pies at home can cost between $10 and $15, whereas in Britain they only cost between £1-£3 per box! We had never tried the iced mince pies, but have seen them all over social media for years, so we had to! They were SO good!

GIANT bags of tea! Okay, you can probably find tea bags in bulk in Costco and/or Sam’s in America, but probably not these brands, and certainly not this many bags for these prices!
