WATCH | The City's trucks are seen cleaning Mew Way Road after irate Social Distance shack dwellers barricaded the road with burning tires, demanding service delivery on Friday, 16 August. They accused Ward 90 Councillor Lukhanyo Simangweni of ignoring them. Community leader Faith Mhlonyelwa said all they need is for the City to install communal taps. She described the protest as one of many more to come if the councillor fails to fulfil their grievances.

WATCH | Organisation in Langa receives new kitchen equipment from local councillor.
Members of the Urban Rural Development and Capacity Building Project from Langa received kitchen equipment donated by Ward 51 councillor Lwazi Phakade on Friday 21 June. Phakade said he saw a need to assist the organisation as it does a great job of feeding the community. He vowed to support other soup kitchens in his ward. URDCBP project director Pamela Nteyi expressed her gratitude to the councillor and cited that his contribution will make a difference.
