Very excited to have I Used To Be Funny selected as a featured film title for National Canadian Film Day coming up on April 17th. We will be sneak peeking on over 20 screens across the country in advance of our official theatrical release in June. Thanks and for making this happen and bringing our film to more Canadian screens. Our new documentary “A User’s Guide to the Voice” airs tonight, January 4, on CBC at 9pm, as well as streaming on CBC Gem. It was a pleasure to co-produce this project with Markham Street Films for The Nature of Things. We have the honour of kicking off the new season that re-launches the series after the departure of David Suzuki, and introduces one of the new hosts - the engaging and humorous Anthony Morgan .Written & Directed by Michael McNamara with a production and creative team including Producer Judy Holm Aaron Hancox Kenny Neal Jr. Luke Murphy Jason Providence David Bertrand and many others, the show is entertaining, informative and enlightening the way good public television should be. So excited to announce the next chapter for our feature film "I Used To Be Funny" today, with Utopia acquiring US distribution rights. After our successful world premiere at SXSW, market launch in Cannes with Magnolia, and Audience Award at the Inside Out Festival, Utopia plans to take it out for a US theatrical release in 2024 after more festival screenings this fall. Utopia hit it big with Rachel Sennott in her first feature "Shiva Baby". Who says lightning can't strike twice!

The film, directed by Ally Pankiw, had its premiere at this year's SXSW festival.
