Today on Meta Moto Premieres, we feature label boss Egzotikka with his intriguing post-punk/coldwave rendition of Lithuanian singer Soliaris’ 2007 pop hit. In addition to being a producer, DJ, radio host, and vinyl collector, Egzotikka harbors a secret love for early 2000s Lithuanian pop, as evidenced by his previous cover of “Velniskas Greitis” by 69 Danguje. This track was recorded during the pandemic, also his new full length album is coming next year.

Shaknis is a highly talented producer, mixing and mastering nerd, analog gear collector, Eurorack synth builder, and all-around genuine lad. His new album showcases a blend of pure electro with elements of breakbeat. Be sure to grab a cassette, and inside the J-card, you’ll find a picture of the synths he used to create this album. The release date is set for September 20th, available on both tape and digital formats.

A statement? Or self-reflection? Energetic moments of introspection, reflecting inability to fit in to a predefined reality. Today on Meta Moto Premieres, we are excited to introduce the latest EP from Mexico’s underground Kyma Komplex label. Presenting “Blue Flamingos” by Thaddeus X, this release pays homage to mid-90s acid house and includes a remix by Ludmila F**s. “Blue Flamingos” showcases Thaddeus X’s artistic vision, inspired by the genre’s psychedelic and raw evolution, influenced by countless nights spent in Madrid’s electronic clubs, particularly the legendary Sala Stella.

The EP delivers a unique fusion of powerful rhythms and psychedelic sounds, crafted to transport listeners into a cosmic dance floor experience. In the vibrant landscape of 1980s Yugoslavia, a period marked by avant-garde art projects challenging the Communist Party's censorship and unity, one standout endeavor was the punk and later post-punk/industrial band O! Kult. This audacious group took a firm stand against bureaucracy, technocracy, and alienation, leading to successful provocations that brought about state and media censorship and surveillance. Among their unreleased gems from this era is the track "Zvestoba" (Loyalty), which, until now, has remained hidden in the archives of Radio Študent. KRI Records has resurrected this piece, shedding light on O! Kult's rebellious spirit and the consequences they faced for their daring artistic expressions.

O! Kult's industrial evolution in the latter half of the 1980s, influenced by Brane Zorman's firsthand experience of the British Summer of Love, remains a pivotal chapter in their musical journey. Notably, the track "Zvestoba" resurfaces with a new lease on life, thanks to the efforts of KRI Records. The label enlisted the talents of Silent Servant, Christian Kroupa (half of Black Dot), and 198319831983 to reimagine the song, infusing it with a contemporary blend of EBM, electro, and melancholic techno, thus breathing fresh energy into this archival treasure. Today, the Meta Moto platform stands as a testament to the absence of early industrial masterpieces from the 1980s, making the resurrection of O! Kult's "Zvestoba" a significant and timely contribution to the musical narrative.
