Soundposts Soundposts is an open access, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to expanding curiosity about critical studies in sound and music.

Soundposts traces the co-evolution of music and sound, youth culture and the resistance to the status quo by exploring how we listen now. Soundposts welcomes essays on individual pieces, albums and artists, as well as issues related to genre, technology and audience. Some potential questions include:

• What does "pop" mean today? And what is the opposite of "pop"?
• What effect does the mainstrea

m have on creating new sounds?
• Who is the 21" century hipster and how does he/ she listen?
• Does illegal downloading affect the way we connect to a piece of music?
• What effect does "portability" have on our music listening?
