👀 you read that right. Did I ever tell you about my life before 99 & Saint Claire? You probably know that I spent almost a decade in the nonprofit space, but did you know that my job was focused on internal project & database management? ⁣
⁣
I actually created this role at my company too. See, when I first started at this nonprofit, we owed more than $30,000 in a single quarter due to data reporting errors. I was shocked. How could a team of 40 people collect and manage data so terribly?

The reason: there was literally no system setup to support them. ⁣
⁣
From that experience, I single-handedly made it my mission that not only would we never owe money back to our grantors, but that our data and internal system would work in our favor moving forward. ⁣
⁣
For two years I developed our system Hedgehog, to capture applications, client intake, reviews, team notes, and even predict the success rates of our workforce programs. After launch, the response was overwhelming. We saw our margin of errors decrease from 75% to 5% within just six months - all because we had an internal system now in place. ⁣

So when I started 99, I didn't care about mastering design techniques, I cared about how I managed my business. ⁣
