💥Robert De Niro’s full statement on Trump. Please read and let me know your thoughts:

I’ve spent a lot of time studying bad men. I’ve examined their characteristics, their mannerisms, the utter banality of their cruelty. Yet there’s something different about Donald Trump. When I look at him, I don’t see a bad man. Truly.

I see an evil one.

Over the years, I’ve met gangsters here and there. This guy tries to be one, but he can’t quite pull it off. There’s such a thing as “honor among thieves.” Yes, even criminals usually have a sense of right and wrong. Whether they do the right thing or not is a different story — but — they have a moral code, however warped.

Donald Trump does not. He’s a wannabe tough guy with no morals or ethics. No sense of right or wrong. No regard for anyone but himself — not the people he was supposed to lead and protect, not the people he does business with, not the people who follow him, blindly and loyally, not even the people who consider themselves his “friends.” He has contempt for all of them.

We New Yorkers got to know him over the years that he poisoned the atmosphere and littered our city with monuments to his ego. We knew first hand that this was someone who should never be considered for leadership. We tried to warn the world in 2016.

The repercussions of his turbulent presidency divided America and rattled New York City beyond imagination. Remember how we were jolted by crisis in early 2020, as a virus swept the world. We lived with Donald Trump’s bombastic behavior every day on the national stage, and we suffered as we saw our neighbors piling up in body bags.
The man who was supposed to protect this country put it in peril, because of his recklessness and impulsiveness. It was like an abusive father ruling the family by fear and violent behavior. That was the consequence of New York’s warning getting ignored. Next time, we know it will be worse.

Make no mistake: the twice-impeached, 4-time indicted Donald Trump is still a fool. But we can’t let our fellow Americans write him off like one. Evil thrives in the shadow of dismissive mockery, which is why we must take the danger of Donald Trump very seriously.
So today we issue another warning. From this place where Abraham Lincoln spoke — right here in the beating heart of New York — to the rest of America:
This is our last chance.

Democracy won’t survive the return of a wannabe dictator.

And it won’t overcome evil if we are divided.

So what do we do about it? I know I’m preaching to the choir here. What we’re doing today is valuable, but we have to take today into tomorrow – take it outside these walls. We have to reach out to the half of our country who have ignored the hazards of Trump and, for whatever reason, support elevating him back into the White House. They’re not stupid, and we must not condemn them for making a stupid choice. Our future doesn’t just depend on us. It depends on them.

Let’s reach out to Trump’s followers with respect. Let’s not talk about “democracy.” “Democracy” may be our holy grail, but to others it is just a word, a concept, and in their embrace of Trump, they’ve already turned their backs on it. Let’s talk about right and wrong. Let’s talk about humanity. Let’s talk about kindness. Security for our world. Safety for our families. Decency. Let’s welcome them back. We won’t get them all, but we can get enough to end the nightmare of Trump, and fulfill the mission of this “Stop Trump Summit.”

đź’ĄDonald Trump Speech Gaffe Sparks Avalanche of Jokes, Memes

Former President Donald Trump became the subject of jokes and memes after his gaffe about waging all-out war on American democracy, which he later corrected, went viral.
Trump, who has made several gaffes on the campaign trail, inadvertently made the comment as he continued his attacks on the 2020 election results during a campaign stop in Iowa on Saturday, December 2.

Solar storm sparks colorful northern lights unusually far south into U.S.

As aurora watchers waited and wondered Thursday night, for a time it seemed possible the latest blast from the sun could end up a northern lights bust. But then, there was light. 🫧

WOW.

Republican Rep. Max Miller:

“Earlier this year I learned that the Santos campaign had charged my personal credit card – and the personal card of my Mother – for contribution amounts that exceeded FEC limits.

Neither my Mother nor I approved these charges or were aware of them. We have spent tens of thousands of dollars in legal fees in the resulting follow-up.”

What do you notice in this photo?

Dorothy Counts made national news in September 1957, when at the age of 15, she became the only black student to enroll in the newly desegregated Harry Harding High School in Charlotte North Carolina.

This came nearly three years after the Supreme Court ruled public school segregation unconstitutional in Brown v. Board of Education.

Counts was dropped off on her first day of school by her father.

As she got out of the car to head down the hill, her father told her, “Hold your head high. You are inferior to no one.”

There were roughly 200 to 300 people in the hostile crowd mostly students and parents who followed her and screamed racial epithets at her.

The crowd taunted her, spit on her, and pelted her with sticks and pebbles.

Unafraid, Dorothy walked by without reacting. When she made it inside, the harassment continued and no adults assisted or protected her during this time.

Eventually, Counts earned a degree from Johnson C. Smith University, and embarked on a career as a preschool teacher and education advocat

I needed this story tonight!

In one of the most notable moments in sports history, Kenyan runner Abel Mutai was just a few feet from the finish line, but became confused with the signage and stopped thinking he had completed the race.

A Spanish athlete, Ivan Fernandez, was right behind him, and after realizing what was happening, he started shouting at the Kenyan for him to continue running; but Mutai didn't understand his Spanish.

Fernandez eventually caught up to him and instead of passing him, he pushed him to victory.

A journalist asked Ivan, "Why did you do that?"

Ivan replied, “My dream is that someday we can have a kind of community life where we push and help each other to win.” The journalist insisted “But why did you let the Kenyan win?" Ivan replied, "I didn't let him win, he was going to win.” The journalist insisted again, “But you could have won!”Ivan looked at him & replied, “But what would be the merit of my victory? What would be the honor of that medal?
What would my Mom think of that?”

Let us not teach our kids the wrong ways to WIN. đź’™

What are the lights placed above traffic signals?âť“

(WHTM/NEXSTAR) – On many traffic signals found throughout the United States, there is a small light that is placed in between or off to the side of the traffic signal lights. Sometimes you see them blink when emergency vehicles are passing through.
So, what are they?
These are called priority or preemption signals. The lights are part of a system that allows the operator of a vehicle to override the normal operation of a traffic light.

Maricopa County, Arizona, Emergency Vehicle Preemption (EVP) systems were first installed in the early 1980s in hopes that they would reduce response times. Fire engines and other emergency vehicles are equipped with emitters that communicate with receiving devices on traffic signals.
When an emitter is activated, the device will cause the traffic lights in the path of the vehicle to immediately cycle and grant the right of way in the direction the vehicle is traveling.

These preemptive indicators allow emergency vehicles to get to scenes faster and clear a path for the vehicle. It can also improve safety by giving a red light to all other lights at the intersection, so no traffic impedes an emergency vehicle.
Who shouldn’t get the new COVID booster?
Many preemptive indicators have confirmation lights installed on them. That is the white light people see when they are activated. The light can be blinking or solid, both of which have different meanings.

And George Santos.
