It's finally here—the wait is over!

The long-awaited 2019 Upper Deck X-Files Monsters of the Week series has been released! As the second X-Files release from Upper Deck, I’m thrilled to dive into this set. I’ve always been fascinated by the villains and monsters—shoutout to Tooms and Krycek!

The odds promise two hits per box (auto, plate, or sketch), and I’ve heard there are glow and sticker parallels. Fingers crossed for a Nicholas Lea (Alex Krycek) and Lance Henriksen (Frank Black)!

Joining us for this break is Billy Celio, Senior Product Manager at Upper Deck and the mastermind behind this set. He’ll be sharing behind-the-scenes details on the delayed release, the creative process, and his own X-Files achievement chase.

Oliver Harbour, the UK based artist responsible for 13 (yes 13!!) of the most incredible original artworks in the Marvel Flair 2024 set, joins the gang this week.

Not only do we hear Oliver's journey into the giddy world of Marvel cards, but we also get an insight into his process, the concepts behind each piece AND how he's making the thumbnail sketches of this work available for collectors to buy.

This episode stands as proof that Ian isn't a sweary outlier of the English and that English people generally can and will drop F bombs as needed.

Marvel Platinum is here! Joining the podcast this week are Grant Sandground and TJ Shevlin from Upper Deck to give us the insider scoop on the set.

We hear about the set breakdown, the sheer scale of the checklist and how that translates to better pack odds and hit ratios.

Grant touches on 'parallel nervosa' feedback and shows us a whole lot of really cool looking cards. TJ talks about the Variant Cover and deepcut checklist inclusions - all in all, we had a blast!
