This was such a cool find!
Not because there was anything significantly great about the sheds but because I found this set of spike elk sheds while we were stalking a big herd of elk trying to fill my cow tag back in November 2023.
15 minutes after we took this video, I harvested my cow elk! 👊
So now these little spike sheds will always be a reminder of that day and trip. 🙌

Back in September, on a black bear hunt, we came across this sow and her cub. At first, we could not see the cub because of the tall vegetation, so we began getting into position to take a shot. Thankfully, Daniel noticed the cub before any shots were fired.
It was a good reminder how important a backup spotter can be and to always take your time and not rush shots, especially bear hunting.
It was really cool to sit back and just watch them for a bit.

Words can't describe how proud I am of this kid! He worked his butt off, fought through the pain of hiking the mountain and never quit! All that hard work paid off!
It was an amazing experience to be able to have my son watch me harvest a deer and then 2 days later I get to watch him harvest his first!
We made some amazing memories and It will be a trip that none of us will forget!🔥

I can't even begin to explain how proud I am of my son after his first ever deer hunt!
We set out on this trip to give him an experience a 10 year old would never forget, and I think we accomplished that!
I honestly couldn't believe how well he did every day getting up early and hiking his butt off all over the mountains, never once making me wait on him.
On the evening of day three, we were hiking into a area in hopes of finding a good spot for the next morning hunt and not even 45 minutes into our hike Kiefer noticed a single doe in a valley 80 yards from us, so we got in position with the rifle and bipod and waited to get a clear shot but the deer moved behind trees so Kiefer took the initiative to pick the gun up and move around to get a clear shot and after a minute or so the deer finally walked into a clear shooting lane at which he fired his first shot missing but thankfully the deer only moved a couple yards to the side and gave him a second shot and that one did not miss! Deer ran and died 50 yards away! 🙌
As we walked up to his deer to our surprise, it was a little buck! That just made his day even better knowing his first deer ever was a buck!
He felt so proud that he was going to be providing meat for our family.
Another amazing part of the story is that he killed his first deer with the same rifle I killed my first deer with!
This truly has been my favorite hunting trip of all time!
Can't wait to see what this kid can do next time!
