CHANGE OF VENUE
The Paper Lantern was severely damaged by typhoon Carina and it won't be ready for Thursday. The show will be held at Mang Rudy's Bar & Grill in Makati.

❗️Sadly, the typhoon and monsoon last week severely damaged The Paper Lantern and it will not be available for Thursday’s show. However, the show must go on.

Most venues in QC are either booked or damaged beyond repair by last week’s calamity. We then decided to move the show to Mang Rudy’s Bar & Grill in Makati.

Emblazoned with clue-filled, comics-oriented cover art, the Filipino death metal band Punebre will present their debut album next month via Death in Pieces Records. They describe it as "an eleven-song homage to horror, humor and our love and obsession for the HM-2 chainsaw!" -- and today we've got a prime example of what they're talking about, through our premiere of a monstrous, mauling, and mad track (which features guest vocals by Danny Nelson from MALIGNANCY). Massive hails to Gadem Production, Tripalium 'Zine and everyone who helped to make this show possible! Pardon the photos as I have a crappy camera phone. Cheers to old and new friends I met at the gig. I hope everyone reached home safely.

The King Kong Battery - These hilarious and scathing speed freaks started the carnage unfortunately they were already playing their last song when we arrived. Blue balls to the senses.

Tsimpayne - Slowed things down after The King Kong Battery's speed frenzy with their sludgy, swampy lucid jammy passages. Tsimpayne can outsmoke your band!

Nuclear Punishment - You know there is a party whenever these mfs are around. Start-stop-start-stop-end what the f**k just happened? You died.

Project Skvll Fvck - Skeletor's tirades in aural form. Nothing is sacred with these f**kers. Nyahaha! Coni was having technical difficulties with his guitar, got fed up, just grabbed the mic and ripped his throat! Good times!

Embalsamo - The main reason I didn't want to miss the gig. Von is back in town and you'll never know when they can get together again as a band so I made sure to go. It was my first time to see these San Pablo death grinders live and they just f**kin' killed!

Pathogen - It's been years since I last saw San Pablo's sickest and they haven't lost their fury! I have nothing but love and respect for this band! Just happy to see them again! Death f**kin' metal! Hails!

Pus Vomit - This is my second time to see them this year and they get tighter. I really dig the new songs, they have a more straightforward in your f**kin' face style. Feedback from the mic was just messing up their set a bit.

Congregation - Don't you just love it when you see a band having fun with their music onstage? I'm personally not much into the style they are playing but you gotta love and appreciate that genuine feeling of musical bliss.

Toxemia - It's good to see Toxemia again with a new line up. The last time I saw them was the second time Human Mastication was in town. Too bad their set was plagued with technical difficulties. One guitar was so loud it drowned everthing else. Their guest vocalist had a tantrum, kicked the mic stand, smashed the mic and stormed off like a diva. WTF, man? Take that rock star attitude somewhere else.

Flash Elorde - Just what the gig needed after the drama. They knocked everyone down with their manic thrashcore blows.

Censorsh*t - Basically the Flash Elorde duo that night plus a vocalist continue the beating with their angst ridden hc punk thrash bursts.

Kapre - Ended the carnage with their swampy, bluesy dirges. The perfect band to wrap up the night if you ask me. I know they recorded something and I hope they release it soon.

"Ang Nasa Dako Paroon" Punebre's first full length will be released on CD format by Death In Pieces Records (Mexico) in May 2023. It's an eleven song homage to horror, humor and our love and obsession for the HM-2 chainsaw! We recorded at Banana Rising Recording Studio ('Sup Inigo!) and it was mixed and mastered at Demiurge Digital by our very own, Ian. The cover artwork is done by Ernest Concepcion, layout by Boyet Miguel, and our friend, Danny Nelson from Malignancy laid down vocals for Hele Hele. We had a killer time working on this record and we can’t wait for you to hear it! Hail the saw!

DEATH IN PIECES RECORDS is proud to announce the signing of Filipino band Punebre for the upcoming debut album ANG NASA DAKO PAROON. This will be out in standard CD version, in May 2023.

Formed in 2017 in Manila, Philippines, PUNEBRE is a death metal band that includes folklore, mythology a horror stories to the lyrics. Music is very influenced by old school death metal acts like Morgoth, Gorguts, Impetigo, Dismember, etc.

After several demos (digital, CD and tape format) the band is preparing final details for debut album, which is going to be released by Death in Pieces Records in May 2023.

This is a fundraiser for 3 year-old Fatrick Lumague, who has been bedridden since December 2019 due to STAGE 3 POST INFECTIOUS TUBERCULOSIS MENINGITIS and other health complications brought about by his condition.
