: Sumon Das photographed the symbiotic interaction between a Spotted Deer and a Common Myna, in Kanha National Park, Madhya Pradesh.
There is a purpose to all the nosiness. The myna feeds on ticks and insects present on the deer’s skin, thus obtaining a steady supply of food. The deer, in turn, benefits from this act as it gains protection from the ectoparasites.
