Tremain Media started as an educational film company, creating videos in the areas of literacy, numeracy, play-based learning, and educational theory. We sold 68,000 DVD’s; our products were in every public library in British Columbia as well as homes, schools and libraries across North America. That was when DVD’s were a thing. So what happened?
YouTube happened. And the educational media market changed forever.
We then began creating videos for other organizations and companies. That was fine, until the 2008 recession hit. Combined with YouTube’s disruptive influence, video was suddenly turned on it’s head - and it killed ALL of the video competitors in our home-base city of Campbell River. There were 7 video companies - then there was only us. Tremain Media got lean and we stayed alive by diversifying our media offerings.
Today, Tremain Media is a full service media and marketing company specializing in video, web, print, social media marketing, digital marketing and time-lapse services. Back in 2010 it was a big deal to us that our commercials aired on NBC-Universal, Versus and and NBC Sports. Now, writing this in 2018, it still feels good - but it’s no longer our main thing. Now we are proud to provide multi-faceted digital offerings that help our clients succeed.
