Time for a new reel! This time is actually kind of sad: i had to face something i was trying to ignore due the last year - the hard, containing all my Quill files died. Everything from the day Quill was installed till the end of 2022: entire worlds, some, if not the most of the things never had a chance to be seeing since they were still in construction stage - about 3T of the data. Fewer files survived by pure accident, because were copied into other directories for some reason.
Luckily all my other VR files ( like TB/OB, Medium) are located on an other disks are ok.
Moral of the story: Do backup, don't be lazy folks🙂!!!

Proud to share the latest job i completed :)
The animation is a mix of Quill and TVPaint - my favorite salad😋!

Jenny The Spook - Bass Girl
Then came the bass
Another from characters trio from Ministry Of Side Affect project.
She was made and animated in Quill, the bass guitar i sculpted in Medium By Adobe and it all was shaded and rendered in Blender.

Riot - Drummer-Girl
So
First - there was a break :)
I'm always testing new ways to get the final look: here for an instance in first two shots i used EBSynth software - it's awesome to edit videos, but for an animation that has some drastic movement ( especially with low fps ) it might be an issue. So i'm happy with the 1st shot, but the 2nd one came out very glitchy as you can see. Other few shots are just Quill animation, rendered in Blender with some shader. And the last shot is a rough hand-drawn animation in TV Paint - that's how i usually start my animations before i continue them in Quill. For the backgrounds i used 3D scan (photogrametry) models - one i captured myself and another one i downloaded from Sketchfab.
Character and animation - Quill; Shading, scene render - Blender; EBsynth was used to change the visual style of the character; TVPaint for hand-drawn animation part and After Effects was used for final retouch (as usual).
Drums loop belongs to Ministry Of Side Affect - virtual band animated project for which this was made: https://www.facebook.com/MinistryOfSideAffect

Bluff Song music video
Hi let me introduce this music video for my side-project - virtual band called "Ministry Of Side Affect" (M.O.S.A). And this is song called "Bluff Song" is from its debut album - "Break The Rock". The video mostly made-up of process parts from the other music videos from that album. And here you can see different types of virtual animation we do: Quilling (also Blender renders), Tilt Brush/Open Brush stop-mo and even Medium stop-mo!
Here're the links to the project's youtube and soundcloud channels and more updates with link, info and other things are coming! Cheers :) !

Hi, let me share here a recent tutorial: Open Brush Experimental file (made mostly out of experimental brushes) import to Blender as FBX in order to make the brushes to look correct. Video shows different types of brushes and also how to solve textures issue with experimental ones.

Dragon-Fly-Girl Concept Demo
Hi, happy to share our next character concept: Dragon-Fly-Girl. I started to develop her long before i got VR headset.
Geek Freak Studio Reel 2022
Hi, it's time for our "General Reel" let's say - where i tried to show all range and varieties of techniques we are using: virtual combined with traditional animation, VR stop-mo and even practical effects if needed!
Geek Freak Studio Tilt Brush Reel 2022
Hi, i'm sharing my Tilt Brush reel, which mostly made-up of Tilt Brush stop-motion animations, because that's what i do :)
Kata-girl character concept
Hi, let me represent Kata-girl character concept, which you could see in Kata-A traditional animation and also walking cycle demo made in Quill. The concept developing started long before i've got VR tool, then it continued at Tilt Brush and Quill. Here are the links:

Concept, animation and music by me :)
A-prophecy - Last Demo
This is post about CG game that never happened.. The dev i was making it with said that it's unreasonable to make games in Quill.. he "just wanted to see if it's possible" lol. So i called this video "Last Demo".
M.O.S.A. teaser
Something new is on the way.. :) - dirty-made teaser, generated in Quill.. it could be cleaner, but whatever you want to look clean in that software will take you tons of time, do you believe it or not. Yep😁. And by the end it will be blender renders, for sure. Yep😂
Animation, design and sound: Vasso Vensky
Something like a boar
"..So when she was saying: "it was something like a boar", she didn't actually mean that it was something like a boar, but that it was something reminding of a boar - something alien, absolutely unknown...😬"
Character concept and animation by Tanya Grishko and Vaso Vensky
So, after learning how to walk i decided to learn how to fly😄! Now, here's one of the most trickiest animation goals i've been taking ..lately.? Actually the character and its animation i started to develop already few years ago - just times by then i didn't know it will created in VR (Quill): my thoughts were about stop-motion times by then.. However, i had to study flight patterns of many live-forms: butterflies, birds, bats and more.. 🙂 The animation was made in Quill, all background assets were created in Tilt Brush, rendered in Blender
More tests: now Blender renders :)
Really rough demo to some old project, that was made in Quill yet before their legendary update, so no transform keyframes and rigging technique was used - everything is frame-by-frame and last sequences are stop-motion, made in old Oculus Medium. The project itself stays unfinished - as many-many others, because there aren't much things, that one animator can lift alone :)
