PAGE to SCREEN: A 32 HOUR FILM FRENZY!
Join today and participate in adapting and shooting an original short film based on a Newbery Award-winning novel. Over the course of this one-week camp experience designed for students ages 8 to 18, participants will engage in a series of workshops where they will hone their screenwriting, film production, and on-camera acting skills; select a story, form production teams, and craft a script; and bring characters to life through performance on a real movie set. Upon completion, teams will compete for the chance to be screened at the world-famous Newbery Film Festival, held right here in Gig Harbor.

Synopsis:
Historical fiction feature film that will highlight Hessian mercenary loyalist soldiers as well as the Black loyalists who fought during the Revolutionary War. It is a story that will weave a tale of Native American contact, romantic relationships and the fears of facing demise while struggling for life in the 18th century.

Capt. Lawrence is a grumpy officer attached to a grenadier unit in the revolutionary war. He is a prideful man who is by the book. Tall, stout, but ideal as a commanding officer who knows how to lead a team. British accents are preferred but not necessary.
[LIEUTENANT UWE] [GENDER: MALE] [AGE: 35-45]
Lieutenant Uwe is a tall, fit and handsome man. He is a sharp politician that has the world in the palm of his hands. He is wise and men and women alike swoon to get his attention. He is calm, confident, cool and collected. His coolness may hide the fact that he is a brutal tactician and a fierce fighter. Accents preferred but not necessary.
[QUARTERMASTER] [GENDER: MALE] [AGE: 40-50]
The Quartermaster wears a mustache and is a stout man that is not overly large in stature. He looks a bit lazy and unkempt. He is a compulsive gambler and often appropriates food and supplies for his own use. Accents preferred but not necessary.

Memories of Sanford Meisner, Michael Chekhov, Uta Hagen, sitting while thinking up, rising while thinking down, preparation, voice and movement, golden rings, and repetitions. These were a very few of our favorite things. I can check that off of the bucket list. Grateful!

RADA does not allow photo or film inside but the first thing you see when you enter the doors of Gower street are the portraits of the late great Alan Rickman and Richard Attenborough hanging above the stairway. Richard was a little crooked so I straightened him up. What rich and intense work our 11 have lived through In a whirlwind spinning dervish of three weeks. This is London. 13 Shot Films will be taking a break from filming while I attend actors training at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. I feel so honored and blessed to be accepted into this six week full time intensive program. I will miss my family, friends and film but it will be worth every minute!
