I miss watching these shows. Wow. That was amazing.
OMG this is just getting out of hand.
Are umps just writing their future - or lack thereof?
Unbelievable that every day there's news about an umpire.
The game was thought to be ruined with replay and computer assist. The irony is that it's being ruined by humans with egos wearing "blue".
Maybe computer assist is more important to the integrity of the game than the umpire human factor.
It it's really a very simple fix.
Get rid of the umpires that perform poorly.
That's it. Get rid of Angel Hernandez and the Valentines of the MLB world. And make it right. Get rid of an umpire union that is basically allowing this to exist.
It's an easy solve period.
This game was brutal. A classic. Seriously - talk about battle chess. WOW!
That being said... a 17-year-old GM, Gukesh Dommaraju, will be playing Ding Liren in the World Championships and not any of these two.
What a last day of chess.
Wow.

Yahoooo! 🎉 Guess who just busted through the 700 mark in 1-minute bullet chess today (3/1/2024)?!
🚀🔥 February was like a rollercoaster heart rate ride with all the bullet chess improvements! 😂 I did, however, dip as low as 560 but suddenly things started to click and boom, March kicks off with a whopping 730!
🙌 It's not all checkmates and glory *several black flags in there too both going my way and frustratingly enough my opponent's way. (The black arts of speed chess) —my daily rating and regular puzzles still need some TLC. 🤔 It's a puzzle within a puzzle! 🧩
💡 Gotta merge it all together if I want to break 1,000!
🏆 Focusing on timed puzzles has been my secret sauce for bullet chess, but my longer games have suffered for some reason.
Time to sprinkle in some 3-min blitz and 10-min rapid too! 💥💪

Usually, a glass of wine and Chess does not mix.
And tonight I had a beer flight during dinner then had to finish an already-opened bottle of 2012 Coquelicot Mon Amor at home.
Whew...
But... I ended the day and the month with a new high score on Bullet Chess!
5 minutes before the chess.dot.com servers reset too! LOL
Cheers and Happy Leap Day!
I was wondering why the BCD Tofu House in Reseda is no longer on the BCD Locations list.
Well, that's because... it is now an ABC Tofu House in Reseda. Supposedly same menu but... I don't want to chance it. BUT... I'll try it someday if I'm in the area... Not going to go out of my way.
It was a BCD Tofu House in early 2020 (March 7) just before COVID. Bella and I went there after one of her singing lessons in Encino.
My boss and I used to go there almost every week! Sometimes 2x a week back in the day.
I love BCD Tofu house!
Local ones: Cho Dang (Montrose), Myung D**g Tofu (La Crescenta), and Miso Tofu Bbq (La Crescenta), a few of our go-to places, aren't as good as BCD.
We went to the BCD Tofu House in Artesia a couple of weeks ago, followed by my favorite spot on Western last week.
I'm definitely craving it now and wouldn't mind driving down to Western tonight!
FunFact: BCD stands for Bukchang D**g, which is a city in Korea, where the founder Hee Sook Lee’s mother-in-law used to run a restaurant.
ABC stands for? We need to change the name from BCD and ABC seems like the easy choice.
Started getting into bullet chess about a year ago and hit my highest rating so far with 653 this past Sunday.
It's the most addictive and frustrating ways to play chess!
I've had a 9 game-win streak in that time.
9 wins out of 12 the other day in Bullet Chess. 9 wins in a row!
Haven't played bullet chess in a while and decided to play more these past couple of weeks. Seems like the game slower now and I see things better after the layoff.
9 wins in a row. Need to log maybe 100+ games to get to 1000 rating but it feels with reach now.
But most of the games are a mess. No theory. Just survival.
My daily puzzle training has helped big time.
It's easier for people to abandon something rather than work to make it right.
Same person will play the victim yet believe they are a leader.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Many reasons why this is my favorite band and this is one.
Live laugh love.
Hilarious and fun.
Reminder we fall back an hour tonight. So you'll get an "extra" hour of sleep so to speak.
Love this philosophy.
Things Donna never says... "My hair is going to get frizzy. But I don't care."
She said it. There's a first for everything.
People can read right through you.
You just don't know it.
I spent many quarters on this game in 1983. What an innovative game at the time. I didn't put a lot of money on compared to PacMan and Galaga and Centipede and other games because once you figured it out it there wasn't a challenge anymore.
I miss the coin op days and arcades.
So cool!
"Johnny Sokko and his Flying Robot” (1967)
One of my all time favorite shows as a kid.
I often referred to it as Giant Robot.
One of my favorite shows growing up. But I couldn't watch them because it was past bedtime. Occasionally, I could sneak a show in here and there.
Did you watch it?

Do they still teach Home Economics in High School? I took that class senior year. I really enjoyed it. Made me appreciate cooking. I believe we learned other things like home finance, balancing a check book, maybe sewing, but the cooking part was great. Thing is, as a home cook, there's always dirty dishes. That being said, even when I don't cook, the sink is filled with dishes because other members of the house think it's magic when it all disappears. So yes, I'm the magician that makes dishes disappear 8 days a week. May 18 was no dishes day. So... I just left em.
Cacao Mexicatessen Why is this my favorite Mexican Restaurant? It's a fiesta of flavors from the get-go: margaritas, beans, cilantro rice, crispy chips, and--let's not forget--the fish tacos! Seriously, what more could you desire? I mean this makes me so happy: "Margaritas, beans, cilantro rice, chips, and the fish tacos!" Dive into the Ensenada Fish tacos, done two ways: Battered Fried for that perfect crunch or Pan Seared for a succulent treat. Either way, you will be happy! For my plant-based friends, don't miss out on the Coliflor Rojo tacos and burritos--proof that you can live the green life without skimping on authentic Mexican cuisine! And the real reason I keep coming back? The margaritas! Here are my top three must-tries: Cadillac Jalapeño Cucumber Spicy Mango Here's a back-to-back for ya: A Margarita Monday followed by a Taco Tuesday Because why limit the fun to the weekend? Remember, it's always Monday and Tuesday somewhere, right? #YelpElite #yelpla #yelplaeast #yelpreview #plantbased #vegan #plantbaseddiet
These were spicy. PrikNamPla@at my favorite Thai restaurant: Paillin Thai in Jollywood.
My dumpling taking a vinegar/soy sauce/chili oil and ginger bath before gracing my taste buds and tummy with its goodness. Din Tai Fung @dintaifungusa
I was viciously attacked by a rabid PitBull-Labrador killer dog today. Barely survived. I was able to record it.
It's 9am somewhere right? Be warned though: Old Fashioned at the Studio Bar at the Burbank Airport is $23. But... the airport has some great tater tots at the far end of terminal A at Guys Burger Joint. Not on menu, meal comes with it but if you ask for tater tots only, hot fresh and crunchy!!!
Before I went away for the weekend to CO Springs I was playing really good chess for my skill level. Past two days I've tanked big time. Can't remeber how to play openings, blundering queens, not seeing tactics. Omg Today was the worst. These are my past bullet games and it looks soooo bad I want to quit.
New to CA Gun roster and to my collection - the Sig P365. I'm loving this little pistol. Shooting it well too! Sometimes I feel it's too small, but seriously, went from shooting 100 rounds of this then a Glock 34 and thought, who needs a red dot. I was zeroed in with the irons on the Glock.
It's been a good start of the year for chess for me. Broke 1000 rating on 1 minute Bullet on @lichess on Saturday. I just started playing d4 openings and without much theory and knowledge manages to break 1000! Decided to do new openings on Lichess and 1 min bullet and stick to openings I know on @wwwchesscom. Need to start playing more Blitz and Rapid though
