How it all began...

In 2014, we took a trip to the Catskills, hiked (used loosely) Kaaterskill Falls and sat around a fire talking about our dreams for the future and how we could start a business together. It took some time, but at the beginning of 2018, we returned to that conversation. Later that year we launched Folding Chair out into the world (and your inboxes)! Check out our newsletter: all the most interesting and relevant stories impacting black and underrepresented cultures, curated just for you each week.

There are so many stories that we feel are underreported and that need to be shared. We want to explain how certain events and policies will have an impact on black lives. Congresswoman Shirley Chisholm famously said “If they don’t give you a seat at the table, bring a folding chair.” Well, we’ve got our chair ready. Through this newsletter, we’re talking about the stories that matter most to us, and we hope, to you.
