We are excited to release Macy and William's wedding film.
"Together we become what we could never be separately...it is no longer just his story and her story, but it's now their story."
We are so grateful for Macy and William's patience as we worked on this film. This will probably be our last wedding film for a while, maybe ever. It has been such a joy to share the stories of each and every one of the couples we had the pleasure to serve. While the wedding day is such a special moment, capturing these moments have shown us how even more precious the lives built together after the wedding day are. To those lives, to the joint stories now being built, we wish our couples great happiness.

How We Got Our Name
Before we filmed our first wedding in 2017, I (Ariel) was already dreaming up a business where I could use my passion of visual storytelling to impact others lives. I had been testing out a lot of different names, or ‘Production Titles,’ in hopes to find one that would encompass all that I desired to do. I am a very detail oriented individual, and I feel like every story, or in this case business, needs a good title. In some ways the name of a business is the face of that business. You want it to roll off the tongue in such a way that saying it feels natural, and when others hear it they want to know more.
While I was playing around with different names I knew I wanted to incorporate myself into it. In Hebrew, the name ‘Ariel’ means ‘lion of God.’ I have always loved my name for that meaning alone. In moments of weakness or fear I remember who and what I am: a lion of God. Lions are courageous and strong, they defend and lead. Lions are powerful, but graceful. I love the imagery of myself as a lion with those qualities, but even more, I love being reminded that I am God’s. He is the one that truly gives me the courage and strength to defend and lead. I am God’s lion, sent out to bring about His kingdom of love and redemption. If I have been given the passion and talent to tell stories through film, I want to constantly remember the story of Jesus and include that in my work.
Lion alone just didn’t seem right though. So I turned to God’s word for assistance. One of my favorite verses in the Bible is Matthew 5:14-16:
14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
There are so many verses in the Bible that give us examples of how to live our life, but something I always want to be is a light. And I want the films I make to have the same effect. I want them to spread love, encourage kindness, invite fellowship, and form relationships. Deciding to tell stories through film isn’t just a passion, it’s a calling.
Where does Nate fit into all this you ask? He married into the name! All jokes aside though, Nate is the perfect partner in making Lionlight Films a reality. He is literally a gift from God, a warrior, with him we have the means to advance and cross the shallow waters. (If any of that seems a little dramatic, just look up the meaning of his name (; ) If you haven’t figured it out yet, I believe names have power. Nate and I believe in Lionlight Films, and we can’t wait to start telling your stories.
