People who hang out with me know dis true...although I'm actually very judicious with listening levels in the studio as well.

I spent too many years blissfully unaware of how hearing works and without realizing how big a part of my life *listening* is.

Now I'm playing the long game.

Shout-out to and their DIY label . Those dudes love music and can't help but keep making it consistently and with the tongue-in-cheek, high energy aesthetic that does solid justice to the punk genre.

Somehow I rarely get to use this beast in sessions but it's one of my favorite instruments to just sit and play with no goal in mind.

No one likes to admit an intimate relationship with their gear or their space. It's the ears, after all, isn't it?

Still, there something about the comfort of well-worn tools that you know, and care for and push to their limits to get predictable, repeatable results that warms the artisan spirit.

Like a favorite guitar. Or a kitchen knife. Or coffee grinder.

Oh and plus all this s**t sounds gooood.
