Alguna

See Me by Lara Makela.

Lara Makela is an 11th grade Ontario highschool student at LoEllen Park Secondary School. She loves to read, swim and most of all write poetry. Her passion is to become a writer (coincidentally). Her inspiration comes by the way of Szymborska’s poetry and the little thoughts that seem to drift in and out of her ears. She is very grateful for a chance to let more people hear
her voice.

Chocolate is one of the first poems from an anthology Ami Clement is working on titled ‘Pantry’, which looks at household objects and their significance. Here she considers what conventional displays of love and affection mean to a modern woman, inspired by Carol Ann Duffy and traditional sonnets.

Lara Schmidt is a poet from Berlin. Writing poetry, short stories and sometimes movie scripts, has been her creative outlet for about two years now. In Lara’s words, “It’s a way for me to understand myself better, and if other people can feel more understood by reading my poetry it means the world to me. I believe that writing can convey a form of truth, that can’t really be achieved any other way. The emotional depth of humans is hard to put into words, but I keep trying everyday and my love towards writing grows daily.” Full poem in bio. Image by Molly Bounds ***r

Today with us a beautiful short story by Nadia Barrera.

Nadia Barrera, born in Chile in 1988, moved to Barcelona at the age of fourteen. Our Story

TAST is an online zine promoting women’s contribution to the literary arts.

Its intention is to inspire and encourage ourselves to believe in our creative power, beyond social and cultural biases, beliefs and limitations.

We publish work that breathes truthfulness and candor.

We appreciate using language as a craft in ways that can change our view of the world or help us know ourselves better through the words of others.
