I have been wanting to interview Glen Herman for quite awhile. And we finally got it done. Glen was a very crucial component to Ben and I navigating through the early punk scene in Chicago. July 22nd is the date of Steve Albini's Birthday. I never do rebroadcasts of past episodes but I was informed of the idea for a life celebration of Steve on his birthday, so I was encouraged to participate. The episode is worth it. One of my best. Much of the credit goest to my partner in this Russ Forster and of course to Steve and Santiago.

I love Ryan Singer’s art work. He did a Mopes design for me and also my 50th Birthday poster. He will be at the exhibit in Chicago for the opening along with some of his art. You should definitely go to see him at the opening or at least check out the artwork on your own time. It would mean a lot to me, since I can’t be in Chicago to help support the event in person.
(His art is in the middle in the poster below. He often combines Native American inlfuences with Sci Fi he grew up with. His work is extremely well done, entertaining, and meaningful.)

Pretty cool I got to do this interview with a member of NoMeansNo. (NoMeansNo: We're so Wright, we're Wrong...) Ben and I used to listen to them after our practices for Screeching Weasel when we rehearsed in his parent's garage.

Episode 191: John Wright of No Means No, and Author Jason Lamb talk to us about the book NOMEANSNO FROM OBSCURITY TO OBLIVION (an oral history), Jughead and John have a pre-interview discussion about topography and road atlases, how the book came to be, there is an underlying sadness alleviated by moments of joy, how does an oral history work and journalism, John Wright's job is not to intellectualize his music but to express it, the community that punk rock allows plus much much, dead, no, bob, means, hanson, no, more!
