Flexing his creative muscles over the course of a varied full-length, ‘Modus Operandi’ heard Photek making use of samurai sharp beats, live jazz drum breaks, glistening space-age synthesisers, and meticulous sound design.

A killer release in a year which brought us many an incredible jungle/D&B records, Photek’s debut perhaps expanded the scope of the genre more than any of them.

GMTF Sessions 1-4 are a wild audio-visual ride in four pieces, packed with experimental electronic music and visuals that interact, merge and degenerate into collages of scratchy and illuminating layers of shapes and sounds. The ‘GMTF Sessions 1-4’ are based on a series of improvised AV studio sessions recorded over four days in July 2022 by General Magic ∞ Tina Frank – an audio-visual syndicate established in 1995.

Foto van honderd jaar geleden. We zien Piet Mondriaan in zijn befaamde Parijse atelier aan de Rue du Départ samen met Nelly van Doesburg. De pianiste en beeldend kunstenaar (ook bekend onder het pseudoniem Cupera of als Pétro van Doesburg) maakte in 1923 een uitstapje naar de Franse hoofdstad met haar echtgenoot Theo van Doesburg, voorman van kunstbeweging De Stijl - waarvan ook Piet een van de boegbeelden was.

Es ist Welttag des Fernsehens 📺 und kaum ein anderer Künstler hat sich mit diesem Medium so auseinandergesetzt, wie Nam June Paik. 1963 manipulierte er 13 TV-Geräte und stellte diese als Kunstwerke aus. Bis heute gilt diese Ausstellung als Geburtsstunde der Videokunst. Paik interessierte sich jedoch nicht nur für die Technologie, sondern für die gesamte Produktion der Inhalte. Das Werk “Zen for TV“ zeigt statt des Fernsehprogramms eine vertikale leuchtende Linie auf dem Bildschirm, der obendrein noch ins Hochformat gekippt wurde. Die Programmbilder werden zwar nach wie vor gesendet, doch bleiben sie bis auf eine Linie unsichtbar und die sonst so flüchtigen Bilder scheinen fixiert.
