It’s only 44 days until Christmas!! 😱

Have you sorted your gifts yet? Have you been thinking a fragrance would be a nice gift, but then see the price and think twice? 😳

Well, I’m here to help! I can offer you a quality fragrance, but at a fraction of the price that you see in the shops.

First, let’s talk quality! For those that don’t know much about perfumes, when you go looking at them, they will be described as Eau de Toilette (EDT) or Eau de Parfum (EDP). These categories determine the strength and concentration of perfume oils in that scent 🌸

EDT perfumes are lighter and less concentrated and have a lower mix of fragrance oils, plus a higher content of alcohol and water. Meaning they don’t last on your skin as long.

All our FM fragrances are a minimum of 20% fragrance oils, therefore making them an Eau de Parfum. We do not add water to any of our perfumes - the balance is alcohol.

This is something to consider when looking at the price of perfumes 🤔

A great example is one of my favourites…our Pure Royal 827. This fragrance is a beautiful blend of fragrance notes and smells very similar to Marc Jacobs Daisy. In Myer, Daisy retails for $119 for a 50ml Eau de Toilette, whereas our FM827 (also 50ml) is only $70 AND is an Eau de Parfum, so it will last a lot longer on your skin.

Not only does the designer perfume cost you $49 more, but it’s an inferior product!! And with the cost of living only going up, every dollar saved is a bonus!! 🤑

So, if you are looking for a quality gift for someone this Christmas, don’t go spending hundreds of dollars at Myer or Chemist Warehouse. Send me a message and I can sort you out. Happy Friday 😍

It’s was a beautiful spring day today so I went out for an early walk. I walked little miss to school, then up to our local cafe for a coffee.

Then home to do some work on my biz and the dreaded tax, followed by my daughter’s basketball game in the afternoon.

In the past I would have to wake at 5am if I wanted to get a walk in. And forget the basketball, I’d likely miss every game due to my corporate job commitments. But now I have the time freedom to walk when it suits me and better yet, be there to watch my girl score her very first basket 😍🏀

That’s just one of the benefits of running my own business. In fact I’d say it’s the most important thing!! I get to work on my own terms and fit it in with my lifestyle.

Don’t get me wrong, making money is great and important, but for me it’s the time freedom which is the biggest bonus 🤩

It’s officially school holidays!! 🤩

We’re off on family vaycay and I’m very excited!
And the best thing…I didn’t need to get my leave approved 🙌

One of the benefits of running my own biz is that I determine my work hours and when I want to work. So when it’s school holidays and I want to take the entire time off…I can 😍

At this point in my life, this is the best thing for family and I. Knowing I can go away and spend time with my them with no work restrictions and still work my biz from my phone (if I so wish)…is awesome!!

I hear about so many mums who wish they could take time off work for the holidays but can’t. I was one of them 😒 And now I want to help as many mums as possible achieve this dream too 💫

I’ve had such a busy day today, but still managed to get in a bit of FM work in between mum and house duties 😊

One thing I wanted to check was my commission balance as I know we’re heading into the busy time of the year.

Not just Christmas but end of year activities, including dance concerts 😬

Well, I’m pretty happy that my current FM balance is enough to cover Sloane’s term 4 dance fees plus her concert fees 🙌

Knowing that these things are covered is a weight off my shoulders.

Whoa…what a Monday!! 🤪

Just taking a quick rest in the car while I wait for Sloane’s dance class to finish.

It’s been non stop today! Running errands, grocery shopping, school drop off/pickup and dance class.

I also helped out in the canteen at Sloane’s school too. School lunches isn’t anything exciting, but seeing Sloane’s face light up when she saw me standing in the canteen was the best 🤩 She was so happy, so proud that her mum was helping out.

I know it won’t always be like that, so I’ll take these moments while I can. I’m just so glad that I now have the opportunity to do it.

My previous work commitments didn’t allow me the time freedom to do things like this, but now I have the flexibility to work my business around my lifestyle, which means I can help out at the school when needed and be there for my little girl 😍

What a day!! 🤪

Child had a snotty nose, so had to keep her home from school. Said child then whinged most of the day that she was bored and hungry 🤨

As for me…the plan was to do a little bit of DIY in the laundry and then a bit of work on my biz.

However it did not go to plan! I managed to royally f*ck up the holes I drilled in the laundry cupboard. Not only did I NOT drill over my mark, which means both holes don’t line up, but I managed to make one hole bigger than the other and lost two wall plugs in the process 😝

Who knew the drill bit should be the same size as the screws! 😂

So today was a bit of a write off in the work department. But that’s ok. That’s the beauty of working for yourself and running your own business. You determine your hours. You determine your schedule and you work the biz around your lifestyle. Sick kids & DIY fails and all!!

Do you wash your hair everyday?

I don’t 😌

I like to wash every 2-3 days, depending on how sweaty/greasy it gets.

Some days, especially following exercise, it has that greasy feel. So when FM brought out a dry shampoo, I couldn’t wait to try it.

Last week I posted about how only 5% of the cost of designer perfumes relate to the perfume itself. The reminder is spent on shop overheads, retailers, marketing, celebrity endorsements etc

Well did you know that the ad for Chanel No 5 perfume that aired back in 2004 is the most expensive commercial to date?

Known as “No 5 the Film”, the 180 second short film had a budget of $33 million USD 😱

With Academy Award winner Nicole Kidman as it’s star (who reportedly got paid $3 million USD for her role) and Academy Award Nominee Baz Lurhmann as the director, you can see why the budget was so high!💰

So it’s no wonder that Chanel charge what they do for their perfumes as they spend so much on their ad campaigns!

And people are still paying this…when they don’t have to! 😯 Our range of FM fragrances are genuine fragrances made in the same factories, by the same manufacturer as the big designers. The difference is, we don’t have fancy bottles, large overheads or Oscar winners promoting our perfumes, meaning we can keep the costs down…so you are actually paying for the fragrance and not the bottle and the celebrity that endorses it 😁

Happy Friday Friends

So today has been a slow day 😑

Broken sleep left me feeling flat all day and really just not bothered to do much at all.

So that’s what I did…nothing! ☺️

If I was still working my office job, I’d have to push through and work the hours, but the benefit of my home business is that I get to choose my hours. So on days like today, I didn’t have to work.

Mind you I still made $$ from some perfume sales…which I might add has just paid my electricity bill this month 🙌

DID YOU KNOW that the actual perfume oils in designer brand perfumes, only make up about 5% of the total cost? 😱

That’s crazy to think when some perfumes can cost hundreds of dollars.

And even then some of these perfumes are only made with 10% or less of the perfume oils.

We’ve all heard the saying “you wear the scent, not the bottle”, so I’m still shocked that people pay these exuberant prices 😮

Did you know that sun damage can still occur during the colder months? Right now in Australia, we are mid-way through Autumn and why it might seem like you are protected from the sun, the UV levels can still be damaging. And that’s why it’s so important to protect our skin, even during the cooler months.

Our Fontainaive Sun & Care range provides a wide range of sun protection products and as part of my April Birthday Month Sale, I have some of the range starting at just $10 each!!

But first, some info on SPF….

The SPF (Sun Protection Factor) number indicates how well the sunscreen protects skin against sunburn. It is NOT an indicator of how long you can stay out in the sun. Rather, it indicates how much longer it takes untanned skin to start to redden with sunscreen applied compared to how long it takes to start reddening without it.

The difference between SPF15 and SPF50 is only 5%. This basically means that you will need to reapply the SPF15 sunscreen more often than the SPF50.

SUN PROTECTION LOTION SPF15 (150ml) – $10
Contains Aloe Vera extract rich in nutritious vitamins, amino acids micro- and macroelements, as well as moisturising glycerine, which perfectly soothes dry skin and regulates its renewal processes. The SPF15 formula gives a light, medium protection, perfect for everyday use, such as on the face under makeup or during the cooler months.

SUN PROTECTION LOTION SPF40 (150ml) – $12
Contains the same ingredients as the SPF15, however the higher SPF40 formula gives a higher UV protection.

MOISTURISING SUN PROTECTION WATER SPF50 (200ml) – $15
Contains moisturising vitamin E, which prevents the formation of wrinkles and premature skin aging, restoring its youthful glow and vitality. SPF50 provides the highest protection against the negative effects of UV radiation. It’s light texture is quickly absorbed into the skin and leaves no white marks. (NB: this product is not waterproof, and the application should be repeated every two hours, also after swimming or heavy sweating).
