Spliced Magazine Spliced Magazine is no longer running, however we do still occasionally post links to content that w Spliced Magazine was born to fill a need.

The team is passionate about a variety of pop culture elements, and we realised that there was no one source which brought all of these together. The name came to represent hybridity, a splicing together of different content that we would like to see given representation in a South African context. Spliced covers a variety of pop culture content, including gaming, comic books, movies, gadgets and

technology on an issue to issue basis. Each issue there will also be a varying lifestyle section that focuses on whatever we find most interesting for that month, be it tattoos, food or a creative we feel is particularly inspiring. As a team we were tired of seeing girls in bikinis as the focus of so many editorial covers, and while we understand that our market will likely be primarily male, we wanted to update this with a contemporary, classy and distinctly “geeky” edge. Spliced Magazine covers four fixed categories every month, namely Gaming, Comics, Technology and Movies, and one variable category that has a Lifestyle focus, but which changes in theme between issues.
